Connollys Red Mills to export to China
04/05/2018 by Five Star Cleaning

Five Star Cleaning has helped Connollys Red Mills in Gowran, Co. Kilkenny, to pass an audit that opens up the worlds largest marketplace for them.

Connollys now have the green light to begin exporting their animal feed products to China. This makes them the first Irish company to get the go-ahead to supply this type of product there.

The audit was wide-ranging, and it included a huge emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene. The high standards we maintain at Connollys heavily impressed the inspectors. They marked that section of the audit accordingly.

Five Star Cleaning is delighted to have helped to open up this opportunity for Connollys Red Mills, said Adrian Woods, CEO. We are proud to have had Connollys as valued clients for some years now, and we wish them all the best in this venture. We also look forward to continuing to work with them into the future, he added.

I had to copy paste this just so Redmills can see for themselves what Hypocrites they are.
I suspect this link will disappear shortly so i guess sales in Ireland and China will hit record lows ....I hope so ....

The funny thing is the antis are all thanking red Mills for stopping sponsorship of greyhound racing, in time they will turn on red Mills and look for horse racing to be banned, and they will give red Mills the two fingers.

I don't think all the thanks the antis are giving Red Mills will replace the Euro's lost in unsold Greyhound nuts. Red Mills big mistake!

Just to clarify igb were infact in contact with redmills they had a meeting last Thursday which was very positive and redmills agreed a 3 year sponsorship for the laurels ect but changed their mind on Friday...so the excuse given by redmills was untrue...

I can understand all the disappointment and anger towards Red Mills, I am one of them but I would say that they gave great coverage and sponsorship to the greyhound industry over the years and I would hope when the dust settles on this that they might come back to the industry in time. The industry needs them Red Mills and I firmly believe Red Mills need the greyhound industry.

I do agree Jim, just a wild suggestion to throw out there, what if people ring up Red Mills and ask them to reverse there decision, have no idea if it will work but if they were to come back on board with the greyhound industry wouldnt it be a big blow to the anties, would imagine this evening will have a big bearing on any reversal of there original decision. As I said just a suggestion.

Great stuff Brian, fair play to them, we as owners and trainers have to support those that support us.

There is now an opportunity for sponsors to directly donate into the care fund for the re homing of greyhounds as was mentioned in the oireachtas debate.
I think this maybe the opportunity for the likes of Redmills to appease both sides.

Just been on Red Mills website and ALL greyhound products have been removed from it :-(

If they truly want to stop supporting the sport, they would have to stop producing Greyhound food - it would ba a major financial slap for them.

Copied and pasted this post from I Love Greyhounds Facebook page:..... Connollys RED MILLS welcomes the comprehensive Transformative Care Plan that has been outlined by the Irish Greyhound Board at the Oireachtas Committee this week to bring the care and welfare of greyhounds up to the highest possible standard.

Our funds previously set aside for sponsorship will be redirected into the new Care Fund that has been proposed by the Irish Greyhound Board and other meaningful welfare schemes for the care and rehoming of greyhounds.

We will constructively engage with the Irish Greyhound Board and the greyhound community to support significant change.

Connollys RED MILLS has built our business since 1908 based on the care and nutritional wellbeing of all animals and this remains at the heart of everything that we do.

Many thanks,
Connolly's RED MILLS

I find it puzzling - only some 3 years ago and after feeding Redmills and spending not hundreds but more like over a thousand euros with them for the years before 2016 I had a chat with John Goeghegan who was the person responsible for the greyhound section of Remills then - he has since retired. The thing does not seem to add up is: Back then, some 3 years ago, I approached Redmills regarding sponsorship for our very large involvement in caring for retired greyhounds, using and paying for their feeds. It was about 35 ex-racers then. John took it to a meeting involving sponsorship and Redmills declined. The reasoning then was, that they already have a big portfolio sponsoring race events and don't want to be connected with retired greyhounds... what a change of mind... sadly for us, Redmills did not feel very disposed tooipen their pockets towards ex- racers when we asked them for support after supporting them for years...

How can they design a nut to meet a greyhounds specific needs don't support us but expect us to buy their product... sorry but if ye don't support Greyhound racing... Greyhound racing won't support ye...at the end of the day the Greyhound industry gives a lot more to redmills then redmills gives to the Greyhound industry.

that's it hit them where it hurts in their pocket.
