Have a young bitch (18mths) that the vet says has had the joint in her shoulder damaged.

Was running last week in a race and got a nasty bump. She is pretty sore at the moment.

The says its 50/50 that she will come back 100%

Does anyone have past experience or advice to offer on this one?

Thanks

Johnny, if you have an ultrasonic machine, just machine around that area. Shoulder problems are pretty common, but they also can get a lot of referred pain from the neck and upper back being out of alignment. If she is reacting in the actual joint, this is most likely from a pinched nerve, seeing as she got bumped, and if you can get a good muscleman to roll the shoulder for you, this should take away the pain in the joint. This manipulation is excellent for the joint trouble, but there are not too many mm who can do it. Get her neck and upper back checked out thoroughly, too. Best of luck, Carole.

Johnny, Dave Kennedy is your man, he is based near killmallock but I believe he goes back to Kerry to check dogs. He is excellent at checking dogs and wont mess you about. I'll give you his number if you want it.
