Thank you, Robert. I NEVER put my dogs through un-necessary pain, Kevin, and the three per cent one does not have to be diluted.

A couple of my clients have had great results with using our laser .craig Schmidt has put a testimonial our our web site.
If you can find some one with a laser ,you will see the benefits.
Cheers jack EXTERNAL LINK

Can only speak from limited experience on an old age pain in the butt problem.
I've probably had about 8 in 14 years.

The main problem is when they heal in a "V" shape and the pressure of stretching on the toes tears at the bottom, which is the weakest point.
The last one I had, the vet cauterized it about half way down in a "U" shape.(That "U" should be square at the bottom.)
No weak point and the cauterizing left a strong edge to the incision.
It was my best result out of the 8.
Put a band on it initially then he raced without it and never a problem.
That was the middle web.
Putting a band on an outside web is a big problem.
If the tear is nearly all the way down not much you can do, but I'd still get the Vet to cauterize and use a band if it's the middle one.

Fact not hearsay ..

You use 3 Percent Carole many people use 35 percent it must be diluted... .

Using hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol to clean an injury can actually harm the tissue and delay healing.

So why the controversy today on whether you should use hydrogen peroxide on wounds...
As just mentioned, this oxidizing agent will also kill healthy cells in sufficient concentration.
Beyond this, its also thought that it may slow down the mechanisms of healing because it interferes with the normal scaffolding processes involved with repairing skin damage. This interruption can also potentially lead to increased scarring...

In addition to making your cuts fizz (which, by the way, has nothing to do with killing bacteria), hydrogen peroxide also hurts like Hell when you pour it on a wound,

The best sound advice is
to clean a wound with warm soapy water ...

Then LASER the wound 4 times a day the healing rate is cut in half ...
Keep the wound Moist as a Dry Scab will slow down the healing progress

Well Kevin, we will have to agree to disagree. The 3 per cent one does not hurt like hell, and has done a brilliant job on dogs we have used it on, with no recurrence of the web splitting, and no additional treatment either. So I will have to leave it at that.

Carole i have no problems agreeing to disagree with you..

I am not making this up all you need to do is Google it ..

If you are going to post advice for newbys best you stick to the latest research and facts...

HP kills the good cells this alone delays the healing process ..It is
a Science based Fact..

keeping the wound clean with soap and water and keeping it moist and
using a laser will heal twice as fast as HP does with less scarring .

Split webbings that have to much scar tissue will always split again but if you try to reduce the scarring you have a way better chance of it not splitting again ....

l forgot to mention another client whos dog made a real mess of its webbing
I advised him to get some colloidal silver using an eye dropper on the wound then using the laser on 635nm twice a day for 12 seconds.,to say hes was over the moon the way it healed . This setting will be different and times different for other lasers.
All the best jack.
