Lots of trainers use just dried food (kibble/nuts) and have success! Some of the Irish and UK 28% high protein dried foods do not require meat, why would it when its that high in protein. Its up to the individual to work out whats good for your dogs and how they run on certain diets? Just my opinion

They're carnivores, and I reckon any dog would be happier chewing on some meat than the same, dry kibble very day. I'm a big believer in premium kibble, but never, ever would I use it on its own.
Agree Sott and i Didn't mean to sound that i would feed it dry, would always soak it and add veg, meat etc for variety whenever possible but i know a lot of trainers who would feed kibble soaked only and get dogs running well on it.

I've got o doubt you could do it Mick, but I just think a happy dog will race better, and variety is good for them. Again,I reckon the premium kibbles are just brilliant....plenty think they're overrated, but I think they're wrong.

Sorry Corey, but imagine how good they COULD be going if they fed their dogs right. Go to any top class trainer, and they ain't feeding Woofbix!

bit of a 1 sided view scott..who's to say what else is being added to the woofbix..on face value you might be right, but reg kay apparently uses coprice working dog and i don't think that falls into premium dry foods and his dogs go really good...

As you say Peter, who knows what else has been added!! At least with the premium kibbles, you're guaranteed consistency.......isn't this what we want in our feed???

yep..i have nothing against the premiums..but nothing against some of the supposed lesser kibbles either,i think whatever works for you and the way you feed, obviously results speak louder than words don't they....

Good dogs, too lol. For me,the better kibbles make life a little easier. There's times I can't get home in time to feed the dogs,so my wife can feed them easily, with meat, kibble and one additive...clean,easy and consistent.

Peter, Woofbix are made for Woolies by Coprice, they are exactly the same product as Coprice's cheaper product Drover, IMO Working Dog is superior to Woofbix and Drover, price dictates that much.

i agree howard...think the coprice working dog is a resonable product for the price...
Fresh red meat MUST be a part of their diet. 500g a day for your average 30kg dog.
I doubt you will find one single trainer that has had any success feeding just nuts/kibble.
Why MUST fresh red meat be part of their diet Mark ?
Just feed kibble and see for youself.
What's wrong with chicken and pasta? Cooked beef with brown bread and veg ? Red meat as a MUST is utter sc@tt@r.

Michael, The topics about food for racing greyounds,we've all offered opinions, but at the end of the day,you can feed them ground cockroaches if you like, and it's nobody else's business. I feed one way,and I bet very, very few two people feed exactly the same way,yet plenty of various methods can bring success. Feed them how you want to.
