Too good Anthony What about William Hill ? I think he also had a share White City was my favourite track and the Derby series was never disapointing. West Ham and Wembley you needed good eye sight coz over the back straight it was hard to pick em out in the race pack, I was never keen on Wimbledon nor my pals. I was blessed to see live racing at so many tracks and see race so many greats. Best Track for punting was Romford in the days of the inside lure. I think Romford went outside lure mid 70s

Good times Graham. Started 1970/1 half decent crowds then, before shops opened all hours. Didn't get to go to West ham as it shut in '72. W/city & Wembley great stuff. Watching the grand national heats from back on the terracing. Had most dogs with Norah McEllistrim for many years, who went to Hove a few years back.

My dad was a bookie and always had a few dogs racing, he would buy from Ireland thru a scout. His dogs raced at Harringay with trainer Parry. London transport took me and my pals to all London tracks, six days a week we went to them all except Hendon. I still miss those tracks. Anyhow back to Jack Walsh his mate was William Hill, both bookies and partners in dogs.

Started work at William hill in the credit office, Blackriars road in '72 as a board boy. Time spent on the tube going to Harringay, manor house I think then a walk, only went to Clapton once wide sweeping bends and short straights, nice bit of early needed. Will let you get to bed.

English Derby Series 1968 Big shock. Anti post fav Yellow Printer knocked over and out of series in round two. Second semi final is now historical. Why ? What happened in this 2nd Semi of the 1969 Derby series
