Have to correct you on something regarding this post. I was at the Don that night, we ran a trip from our local flapping track in Bedwellty, South Wales. I was friends with a guy by the name of Bob Niblett, who owned an Oaks winner, Oaks favourite etc, he was friends with the owner of Tapwatcher, whose name escapes me, after the race myself and a mate by the name of Paul Evans got in to the restaraunt, where Bob, the owner of Tapwatcher and their wives were dining, we went and sat and had a drink with them, I was showed the photo of the finish, the photo showed that Tapwatcher had indeed lost the race, probably by his nostrils!

1987 Final Signal Spark (walthamstow) won English Derby by a short head beating hot favourite and track record holder Tapwatcher.
