Wal look all over Australia, it's not the grading that is a problem it's the grouping, and the re-draw facility that states have that it should'nt have. If parameters are right in software, and again i say who developed it a tax cheat, what vigorous testing did it go through. Nobody knows, when you buy software even if it's Microsoft you can search the net.AND FIND IT, Not this one, did several experts develop it or daffy duck. This i do believe is not used in any code overseas coz they would have bragged about it.I wouldn't mind that much if instances were occurring and look into it to rectify it but GRNSW and states stonewall, WHY and will not tell. The Audits are vague, if so many scenarios were conducted, publish it so we all see. No a three paragraph audit. It's what they are not telling that is suspicious. THAT'S WHY READERS SMELL A RAT. I don't want your stats Wal we want theirs, states claim they don't have any.No stats on boxes, or trainers or dogs that get them. If the system doesn't have it entered why the RE-DRAW.

I have a bitch that has had 34 starts, is a desperate railer and has not seen box 1 once. Box 8 9 times, 6 box 4's, 5 box 6's She has had starts in NSW and Qld and the grader told us she should be close to getting box 1 soon.

Conspiracy theories abound! Dino as far as the re-draw you've earlier stated "So that in only in extreme circumstances eg: grading error allows this process to happen and warning emails are sent out to certain officials that a re draw has been requested and certain permission granted for this to happen." This should answer your own question in that regard. Also when you watched the draw being made to have said "Each runner is entered and computer it puts them in alphabetical order." No mention there of the trainers name being entered!?
As far as audits go you are absolutely correct. They should be available and complete in the how it was conducted and its findings. I read that Tom has asked for this information - I wonder if he ever got a response. For the audit system (AND the re-draw facility for that matter) to be corrupt and all those involved in it to know it is corrupt involves too many persons not saying a thing.
And I strongly disagree with your first comment - I would suggest most trainers would be more concerned with say drawing against both Zipping Willow and Zipping Midge in a 5th grade event than the fact that they happened to be drawn in adjacent boxes.

good post wal, its 100% that people are NOT involved in any rorting.

I just do not have the same 100% faith in the actual software. I would like to see the same field of 8 runners(all real, not made up) with 2 trainers with the same initial entered and drawn 100 times. They should draw adjacent boxes ~ 20 times.

Yes Tom that would be a good test. I can understand that peoples suspicions are aroused when you see the same trainer drawn in adjacent boxes- it stands out like the proverbial dogs testicles. However this information should surely be available in any audit. You SHOULD be entitled to ask for the audit and it SHOULD state over the audit period how often adjacent boxes were given to the same trainer
ps. my maths says it should happen 25 times- ie. 1 in 4 ???

I,m 100% behind you Tom & Wal, explain all and show us no stone was left unturned in the audit not just what one state body wants seen in the audit. Transparency not behind curtains, and let's give all these beautiful animals a fair go, for their owners and trainers.

Well Adrian, seems like it,s back to normal grouping here. On friday at Strath did not group two names for the whole meet.Thought some-one had listened. But HEY presto they are back again. Obviously no money on strath tote. . Adrian they can see it, they can over-ride it with the touch of a button. But choose NOT to that would admit they have had a problem. They have no-one to answer to, and do not. A lot of trust in one group.

So by the way any-one in New South heard about when a audit will happen or if. CAN'T come too soon so the code can get back to normality in our draws and fair fields for these dogs. I'd like to thank Robyn and Steve for their valuable info on STATS for SA trainers, real eye opener. thanks heaps

Think any issues with Ozchase needs to be addressed in Perth, but don't quote me on that. Controlling bodies send complaints there but nothing's been fixed in the system.

i spoke to the graders about a month ago and they said an audit was currently taking place of every race in the system which will take a few months.

they probably won't reveal the results tho.

they need to look at the specific theory that trainers initials are effecting the draw and also all other theories about the draw.

Without looking at the specifics, any "bug" will go undetected as has been the case in the past.

If a bug is found, will it be "revealed"?

check the number of times the initial doubles up at WT and rich sat night.

No way the double ups are within the parameters of random %

Tom it's hard to believe this coupling of names didn't show in early stages of software, and how no- body setting this up did'nt see it. Or if it was ever trialled before use, but surely integrety from GRNSW would move in and stamp out the bug. Why the total lack of desire to get it out and quash any rumors,Doing nothing only leads people to believe what they believe. And that they are answerable to no one, their jobs are safe for as long as they want them

cannot answer that dino,I have forwarded my theory to GRNSW and the NSW integrity unit. GRNSW have advised previously that they have forwarded it??, but that is the only response i have had.

Why can't they draw the fields up as normal in number order, then use the banjo to conduct the boxdraw.
The draw could be video streamed live and a replay of the draw attached to each race for review at anytime.
Footage would have a time and date stamp encoded on it.
This may take a bit longer but may help stop some of the doubters of the current system.
I raced in the final of the Shepperton a couple of years ago, the draw was done on track and Jason Thompson had two runners they drew, box 1 and 8.
Maybe some people are just lucky.PS he didn't win the final.
