The Oz chase box draw system is not worth two sacks, here in SA it should be scrapped. Not only are there problems with grading but trainers drawing consecutive boxes such as 2,3,4 or 6,7,8 but how does my greyhound draw 6 box 6s in a row at different meets and distances which now makes a tally of 9 from 25 starts from a system that is not supposed to have memory. Well to who ever devised this system. I want it to do x lotto draws coz we would all be rich and wouldn't need to race dogs. It's been adopted because it's cheap cost software for states to afford so trusted and reliable that FINALS races are done by balls in rolling cage . Bring it back i say!!!!! but we have no choice like it or not we are stuck with it.

i have strongly criticized grnsw about this and they told me there is nothing wrong with the system. but they are currently doing an audit of the entire box draw from when the system started. and the results wont be in for several months.

i can guarantee they will find issue after issue.

same trainers drawing the same boxes, trainers dogs always being drawn next to each other. same dogs drawing the same boxes.

I wish they would phil, I wish they would go back several years but that won't happen as if audited professionally they wouldn't like the outcome

There definitely something wrong chris because WA have demanded an audit of the system and asked that audit be completed by end of march. If the odds of lightning striking in the same place twice then my dog would have so many holes in the top of his head it's not funny. Coz something makes the graders life easier than having to have to do it the old way. They have jumped on board not knowing whether its full proof. grnsw will just try to knock out the glitches as they go along some of these field draws could be construde as fixing. trainers with same first names and surnames are drawing consecutive boxes here, but 6 box 6 s in a row come on grnsw and if the system was delved into they would find so many holesit would be like a tea strainer

there is certainly a "bug" in the system, as some traits just keep repeating themselves at rates that are way more than "random"

EG: owner getting adjacent boxes with 2 dogs in a race occurs much more than the "random" stats are.( which are 1 : 3.5)

I know where your coming from Corey, my mothers dog got early race it's first start and the last after that's because here they run the slower grade 6s in the last, probably because it's not exciting to watch on SKY. It needs more of us OWNERS and TRAINERS to arc up enough is enough to make a voice that is heard. We are the ones with the money tied up our dogs without us there's no sport. This system is obviously sub standard for grading and fielding our sport.I say to make the GRADERS go back to grading like they used to MANUALLY their paid to be there all day any way. Harder work what's wrong with that we are all made to.

Tom it was put out there because of incentives by the NSW government and never tried and proven in any race code i bet,and when problems arise we will iron them out. BUT real good software has all the parameters calculated that you don,t need to change. That,s like going up in a plane that has glitches in it,s software and change it in flight. GET IT RIGHT!!!! with IT mathematicians then use it.

i looked at 3 meetings this wk,
Mait had 3 owners with dogs in the same race, all 3 drew adjacent boxes
Dapto had 3 owners with dogs in the same race, 1 race they were adjacent, 2 races they were not
wenty had 4 owners with dogs in the same race, 2 were in adjacent boxes, and 2 were not.

That gives 6 in adjacent boxes, 4 not. Mathmatically/randomly out of 10, only 3 should have been adjacent. (not 6 which is double)
This is not a big enough sample to be a true indicator, but it does show a possibility that their is a problem.

I also noticed looking down trainers names, there is a high number of trainers with the same Christian name initial that draw adjacent boxes.

An audit of the software is certainly warranted.

Ah Tom. How in the blazes are ya m8 ? Weren't we just discussing this very same issue a wk or 2 ago ? Like I said , 1 or 2 trainers might be wrong but NOT a large % of em ! Now I see its going on in all the different states. Can u tell me whether each individual state are using the exact same software etc etc or not m8 ? Either way a full investigation or audit is MANDATORY in EVERY state regarding box draws & allocations going by all the very unhappy trainers I see & hear venting their anger & frustration on this subject & the GRA owes it 2 everybody in the game 2 find the "gremlins" that MUST be somewhere in the system. If they don't its a slap in the face 4 trainers insulting their intelligence !

steve, from my limited research, I believe the system "bug" looks at trainers names and has a tendency to group them based on 1st letter of the christian name. Look thru the draws and see how many owners with the same 1st letter are drawn together. It seems higher than a "random" draw.

steve, I have forwarded my last 2 posts to GRNSW, and asked for their comment and also advice on how an audit is carried out.

Tom, we have had a lot of pups start off their careers from box 5 or 6 and they kept drawing the same boxes for quite a few starts afterwards. This can destroy a new pup's confidence, drawing squeeze boxes consistently when they are starting off their racing careers.

scratch them carole if its going to hurt there confidence and break the squeeze box cycle if you believe that to be the case..cant complain after the fact.
