Mullingar GOBA

25st January 2016

Geraldine Larkin

CEO Irish Greyhound Board

Greenpark

Dock Road

Limerick

Dear Geraldine

Mullingar GOBA are still waiting to hear if they are to get compensated for taking part in the live streaming, it has gone from a 12 week trial period to another 3 extra weeks trial period and now into the whole of January, this is not good enough by any standard, the bookmakers either want our product or they dont , the owners and trainers have given the IGB more than enough of their Sundays free of charge and without any financial returns coming from the IGB , the owners and trainers have decided that if no agreement has been reached by the 31st January 2016 there will be no more Sunday racing after the 31st of January as agreed at our last meeting where a vote was held and it was decided the 31st January is the last day for Sunday racing unless an agreement can be reached before this date , Please contact me on 0868209640 when you have more information, I look forward to your reply.

Secretary

Mullingar GOBA

Dave Cunningham.

As you can see Sean Hickey it has been an up hill battle for the Mullingar GOBA to get any confirmation from the IGB regarding run money for the owners we are still waiting for confirmation from the CEO and until such time as she has the decency to contact us we have nothing to tell our owners, and as far as the IGOBF are concerned they have played no part in trying to get run money for the owners of Mullingar or any other track involved in live pictures, at the last Federation meeting a delegate said No Mullingar business will be discussed here, now you are claiming the federation are responsible for this money for owners, Sean please do not take credit for something you have played no part in, it was the Mullingar GOBA and no one else, you may try and take credit somewhere else for something you have actually achieved and then tell us what it was you achieved. shame on you.

Last contact with CEO and no reply.

Hello Geraldine, On behalf of Mullingar GOBA I am requesting written confirmation on when the monies for the owners will be paid for supplying their dogs for live Sunday racing, monies to be back dated from 9th February 2016 as previously stated by yourself at a recent meeting with the Directors and GOBA at Mullingar stadia, also can you confirm the terms and conditions laid out by the IGB in order for Mullingar track supporter club to receive their financial rewards and how much per supporters club will be available, also as stated by the chairman the same applies to all track GOBA , can you please reply before Sunday the 24th April 2016 as we are holding another GOBA meeting, thank you.

Secretary

Mullingar GOBA

Sean, the IGOBF are the recognised body for greyhound owners and breeders and if they continue with their good work we will all be happy.

Confirmed to the IGOBF ??

I have been to a few of the meetings between Mullingar GOBA and Joe Lewins of the IGB and at no stage have I ever heard anything about the IGOBF been involved in any of the talks.
This has been a long road and many hurdles have been jumped and strong words spoken but without the extremely hard working committee in Mullingar GOBA and indeed the Mullingar owners and indeed Tony and Dave who were constantly in talks with the relevant parties this would never have come to fruition and hopefully this is going to hearld a new era in greyhound racing in Ireland.

In times of such negativity in the game it's great to see some positive news coming forward but don't go jumping on the bandwagon saying the IGOBF had a part in this.

It has been confirmed to the IGOBF that the Run Money for the unplaced runners will be paid before the end of the month to Owners. Well done to the Federation in following this up with the IGB Executive.

I will begin by correcting the mischievous and misleading information posted above by Mr.Hickey. The IGOBF played no part in any negotiations in securing run money in Mullingar,Cork or Youghall. If you have in your possession any correspondence between the IGOBF and the IGB showing proof of such can you please post them on this forum so we can all see them. Also if you have any correspondence where you acted on behalf of the Cork greyhound owners for the Youghall track you can post such. At the most recent federation meeting I brought up the subject of getting payment at all three tracks and I was told that I couldn't bring up or discuss Mullingar issues at this meeting. Mr. Hickey you are the treasurer of the federation and I would of thought if there was any correspondence it would be posted by the secretary or chair person of the federation.

Mullingar have principles, they carry out their business above board and are not a secret society, We keep people informed by posting on greyhound Data something other GOBAS should do, you must be getting confused somewhere along the line as I am that IGOBF officer you are referring to so thanks for your kind support.

Hi Martin, it looks like your cover is blown and the anonymous officer of the IGOBF doesn't exist no more than Anthony Ronan does, well that's my opinion.
You are continuously posting on another forum site about how united the federation and the greyhound owners are, please stick to that script and don't try mudding the waters! Phil Meaney and his board would love to see it happen.
But thanks all the same for highlighting the issue of the run money at our meeting with Geraldine Larkin and Joe Looms in April, we demanded that the Owners of the dogs at all 3 tracks, Youghal,Tralee and Mullingar would all receive the same level of funding and the CEO made a verbal commitment to that effect. If and when the funding comes through it would be great news for all concerned and the efforts from the directors of Mullingar track the GOBA and the committee won't have been in vein but as the old saying goes, 'don't count your chickens before they are hatched'.

The only part united are those within their own little clique at the top table of the igobf and a few rouge delegates. The stunt pulled by the igobf on the mgoba was dirty and underhanded, those responsible should be stood down with immediate effect and new younger blood brought on to the top table. Some have been around a very long time and have achieved little or nothing of any significance. Also the individual being proposed by some at the top table of the current igobf for Chairman at the up coming agm, well the least said the better this will definitely be a very big step backwards if it was to happen.

Mullingar GOBA have not received any information from the CEO regarding run money for owners of live racing, I have been in touch with some owners but until now no payment has been made by the IGB to owners Thursday 26-5-2016.
