Where were the other 6 entries going to come from?

Pretty sure he'll be there for the cup next week..

Kade,

Neither GRV or Traralgon can put on a FFA without sufficient nominations of Grade 4 or better.

Apart from the champ there was only one other Grade 4 nom eligible to compete in a FFA (Dawkins Bale) with four other Grade 4 dogs contesting a Grade 5 Final after winning their heats last week.

As Traralgon was only been re-opened a few week ago it is obvious that there aren't many Grade 4 or better dogs qualified at the track over the 525m. FB and Dawkins Bale despite never having raced at Traralgon are graded at a higher level in consideration of their achievements/prizemoneys.

Anyhow Kade keep your powder dry and get to Traralgon prior to Race 1 tomorrow night and you never know who you might see go around!

Thanks for clearing that up. Just want the best for my local club and would've loved to see him race. Just have to wait a week until the cup heats. I suppose in hignsight GRV could have put a cup prelude special event on knowing that most dogs will be grade 5 given how new the track is.

Keep up the good work and a big thanks to getting my home town track back up and going. Even better given that i had a winner tonight.

Good to know we'll see the champ there next week after he trialled 30.40. Pretty happy with my bitch doing 30.49.

there this Saturday
Go Fernando

Could someone from the track please alter the diagram of the track that shows on the brainstormer form guide ? The old track diagram is still on there. Thank you.

Hi Julie,

Yeah a little disappointed with number of noms although maybe to be expected as we've only been racing for a few weeks. Nevertheless, very happy with quality spearheaded by the great Fernando Bale ($873,000 prizemoney)and the local champ and Australian Cup winner Luca Neveelk ($518,000 prizemoney). Looking at heats there are 11 dogs who have won over $50,000 in career earnings and a total of $2.3m for all contestants. Should be a top quality cup final on Saturday night 19 September.

NGF has Virginia Rose & Bigbad Fiji as record holders.
Isn't the custom to wait until the track has been used for 3 months or x meetings before giving a dog credit for a record run?
No disrespect to those quick dogs, I hope they do go on and hold the record.

Was at Traralgon last nite for the first time and I'd have to say the facilities are top notch but the track itself would have to be the worst designed track I've ever seen only behind casino. not surprising you rarely see the big kennels racing there.

Agree 100% mark!, & you'll find that a board member at traralgon is responsible for the crap design. When you've got the chance to design a new track from scratch & you come up with starts on turns & others close to turns you are very stupid. That track could've been the best country track for design & safety for the dogs to race on & they completely stuffed it up.

Apparently they consulted two "big trainers" Lawrence, one is disqualified and I haven't see the other one race there yet. I just couldn't believe it when I rocked up an saw it with my own eyes. As you said they had the chance to design the best track we have in vic and to come up with what they did is mind boggling.

Funny how the biggest whingers seem to be the unluckiest trainers. Perhaps your dog might be better suited back racing in S.A. country Mark as he has better form there. 7th at Traralgon preceded by 5th, 5th and 6th.

sounds like your a clever bloke Don no wonder the track is designed the way it is.
7 wins in Victoria and 1 win in Adelaide.
Spoke to the owners before the race and said forget about it, collisions in every race and with the tight turning track if your not in the first few forget about it.
maybe time to get your head out of the sand and stop trying to defend the indefensible. I gather you already realize that considering your poor reply.

Don, I think that's a very poor reply, going the man is poor form. As I said earlier, I think it's a poorly designed track & as a matter of fact I've got a pretty fair pup that's trialled there twice & can't handle it. Starts on bends or too close to them, not good IMO.

i think don knows its a crap track,, the thing is it was a crap track before the rebuild ,,

so why is the rebuild track still crap ?????????????///

in this day and age is anyone accountable in track design ???????????/

its just such a simple procedure to build a safe track ,,

but saying all that we have the crap track at the other end of the state at geelong ,, i believe built with input from a leading trainer at the time ,, no longer with us lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Lawrence your got a hide suggesting I'm going the man! You stated "a board member at Traralgon is responsible for the crap design". Now let's be honest this man has done more for greyhound racing than the likes of a whinger like you will ever achieve if you lived to 150. As for your aggrieved mate well he is a track expert after one visit when his dog missed the start and by his own admission hadn't trialled there.

Michael,The "leading trainer at the time" would know more about greyhound racing than you could ever comprehend (and no I don't condone his actions that led to his downfall.

Not whinging don, just stating the facts as I see them. Narks not my mate, I don't even know him. You can defend the process that brought about the track design all you like, & you don't know me so it's a big call to suggest what I have or haven't achieved in the game. I understand your eagerness to stand up for YOUR track & that's fine, but my opinion still stands. As far as the guy that helped design Geelong goes, he was a cheat who got what he deserved , albeit 30 years too late.
