The Galway Greyhound owners and breeders have kindly sponsored 2 x 810 yard races to be run in 2 weeks time preference will be given to members however going on past experience the track management have been unable to fill a staying race so you have an excellent chance of getting a race.

as per track manager there will probably be a novice race and a graded race depended on entries so common and support Galway's effort to facilitate staying races.

race entries to Galway track. prize money of 500 euro for race winner

Sad to read on talking dogs today that Clonmel were forced to cancel an open 750. The following has been taken from talking dogs

"A disappointing development at Clonmel is the cancellation of the John Kennedy Motors Open 750 due to lack of entries.

This event was due to carry a winners prize of 2,600 but only five of the required 24 entries had been received and it was reluctantly decided to cry halt.

There has been a wide demand for six bend racing and the situation has improved in the past year or two but it is a sad day that such an event cannot fill."

I spoke with track manager and he is very hopeful of filling at least one 810 yard race, at the moment he has more entries for a graded race. It is hoped that the draw will take place during racing tomorrow night so this is your last chance to enter and be in with a chance of winning 500 euro.

all enquires to track office

Novice is going to be hard to fill because you cant have A1 taking on A6. I have entered a novice A5 and a D3 as per racing Manager he will do his best to make up a fair race with the entries he gets but he needs a few more entries to make a race. this is a great opportunity to pick up 500 euro for prob a one of race.

racing manager said he very optimistic of putting on a graded 810 draw now to take place on Tuesday just one more entry needed. there could also be a novice 810. the racing Manager has the funds with 500 euro per race sponsored from the Galway greyhound owners/breeders.

This is taken from talking dogs

"There will be no Saturday meeting at Galway this week due to the rugby game between Connacht and Edinburgh.

There will also be no meeting on Friday week when Connacht entertain Treviso. This means there will be just racing on one night per week for the next two weeks.

Entries are required for a number of races and stakes to be run in the first two weeks of November. These are 1,000 A3/4 Tri Distance (525/ 550/ 575), 12/18 dog 700 A5 525, 12 dog 450 S2/3 450, 12 dog 450 S4/5 350 and one off Coursing 350, Marathon 810 and Veterans 350.

Starting in early next month also will be the three 12 dog Cancer Care West Stakes. These will be 600 A2, 440 A4 and 520 A6."

Good prize money on offer but will these stakes fill the 810 has been advertised for a while now at least we have a start date so common and get your entries in. Delighted to see that Kilkenny were able to fill there distance races this week also see Shelbourne has a distance race.

"""""UP date"""

3 of the Galway entries for the 810 are running in Longford in a distance race on Friday night. fair play to them they been waiting long enough for a distance race in Galway, I would have entered if I had known there was a race.

Its very frustrating to think that Galway cant fill a Graded race with 500 euro to the winner and Longford can with 225 euro to the winner
