A mate was knocked back for the name Darth Hater!
Apparently a bit dark and not a good look he was told, he mentioned the dog named Spring Murder that's racing at present and was told that's out of there control what other states do lol
He's now got to rethink his other names as he doesn't believe they will allow Playin Possum, Four Corners, or Furry Fangs.

I'm halves with a dog and we wanted "Yolla Thommo" in memory of the other half owners son who passed away last year. Yolla is the town he lived in and apparently we can't have nicknames now. I put forward "Yolla Tom Oh" but no that's trying to get a nickname through ffs.

Is there an avenue to dispute this decision? it's not derogatory or offensive, just a first time owner wanting to race a dog in memory of his son who died.

I recently had She's A Diamond knocked back. I wasn't told why

It was probably a blessing in disguise though because while the name was being processed she injured herself and it would've been a waste of a good race name on what's likely to now be a limited ability dog

Diamond is a locked out Suffix/Prefix it's bloody ridiculous. There's well over a thousand dogs with "Diamond" in their name in Australia alone. According to Greyhound-data. We tried to claim it over 2 decades ago and were rightly knocked back, because of how common it is.

I got knocked back on a prefix recently it was PEARLZ .
Reason was apparently there are too many dogs with Pearl in their name .

That's how ludicrous the system is. There are a third as many Pearl dogs as there are Diamond dogs. They fair dinkum have got no idea and are making up rules as they go along. They are completely arbitrary and a law unto themselves.

There was a racehorse that ran in Qld last Wednesday called Badgers Nuts and when behind the starting gates the race caller said something like 'there's been a little nibble on the badgers nuts, it's 19s into 17s'.

Amazing how that name was passed.

I agree , it's so random.
Another example I wanted to call a pup Imposing Licorice but it was too long. I then asked for Imposing Likrish - no because it's not spelled correctly it needs to be spelled correctly.
So after a huge number of other names I asked for Imposing Schnapps , no you can't have it but if you want Imposing Schanps you can have it. Ummm ok .... but it's not. spelled. correctly .... but yeah lets just do that..
