Hi Faye,
Pups are now 13 months old and are in the main kennel, settling well. They are quite big pups. The girl is over 30kg and the boys range from 33kg to 36kg, All 5 were given a hand slip last week, albeit none of them had ever been to the track before.

Reactions were varied (only 2 chased first time) and this week they will all be taken along to watch other dogs trial(which is how we usually start them off).

Because of their size we are not too concerned with starting them until next year.

Thanks for the update, scrumpy woods was a bit reluctant to chase but once she got the idea she was fine, good luck as ever with them, Faye

Thanks for your comments Dean. They are adorable pups and have a lot of their mum in them.

I am not sure which post has 400 odd photos attached but since I suffered a stroke in late 2015 I really am not sure what I am, or am not, posting by way of photos. In fact I have not posted any for almost a year as I get very confused and cannot remember how to post them.

Hi Faye,
We (my trainer and I) decided that we would send the pups to Damian McCann in Northern Ireland as there were a lot less trials at Yarmouth during the Christmas and New Year period.

They are all going well, with 2 of the dogs a bit ahead of the rest of the litter but all five are chasing and overtaking without problem.

They are due back in a couple of weeks and will then trial (and hopefully grade in) at Yarmouth.

Thank you for checking on them and I will try to let you know how they get on when they are back with us.

best regards,
Maureen

Sorry I missed your last post Faye but I am pleased to be able to tell you that DALSHA BRAVE aka Max (Bd Dog) and DALSHA SCRUMPY aka Pepsi (Bk Bitch) have both qualified to race at Yarmouth.

Whilst both of them should start off in a low grade (possibly A8) they do have the potential to progress as they gain more experience.

Max has a best time (so far) of 29.69 whilst Pepsi has a best (so far) of 29.72 and they will hopefully make their debut in the next week or so.

Unfortunately their 3 brothers have all picked up "niggles" of varying degrees and it will be a few weeks or so before they also, hopefully, are on the racing strength.

Hi Faye,

This is the end of the pups growing up and the start of their racing career so I will not be posting on this thread again.

My two pups made their debut on Saturday 31st March 2018 in the same race!!! Max was in trap 5 and was made the favourite by the bookies, whilst Pepsi was in trap 2. Unfortunately I was not at the track as I find it difficult driving at night since I had my stroke.

Max found it a bit different to the 3 dog trials that he has previously run in and although he showed great pace to the third bend to possibly put himself in contention he then lost his way and was knocked over.

Thankfully he got up and ran after the others, finishing the race a distance behind. He was checked by the vet and was found to be OK.

Pepsi meanwhile was very slow away and took a long time to get into her stride but she ran a lovely last bend and caught the leader just before the line to make a winning debut!!!!!

Her time was not very fast and she probably won't get upgraded but I was pleased with how she ran on.

best wishes, and thanks for letting me have Minnie,
Maureen
