Ive always maintained that GBOTA wouldnt really know how to promote big events on a regular basis. GRNSW and GBOTA jointly promoted the Chase Race then ..... nothing much after that. GBOTA look after their members and not the entire industry much to the detriment of it in many ways.

Wheres the leadership from GRNSW? Is the Authority doing enough? What are your thoughts ? Please keep them respectful as you can. Theyre watching.

Time to move the GBOTA on they do nothing and never have all they do is cost money . The GRNSW should run everything racing as long as they employ greyhound people that know all about the industry then we might go forward.

Gillian,

For 60 odd years the board was stacked full of people who knew the industry (so they said). Nothing much happened. Then it moved more recently to a board which had a rough idea of what the industry was about. Still nothing happened except that it failed to eliminate abuses and then employed more people. Last year, staff numbers doubled and since then the only time I have seen or heard the chairman was on TV when he accidently ran across Gladys at a kids sports afternoon.

Bureaucracies - whether boards or staff - do not manage, they just administer. If you want proper growth and profitability, get real managers and a responsible organisation. If you want your paperwork handled neatly - you need to do nothing.

If you want trainers on staff they will no longer be able to train, will they?

If you want trainers on the board I will quit immediately and concentrate on Sports, horses or whatever.

Trainers train. Managers manage. No conflicts of interest. It's not a difficult concept.

Managers of organisations are instructed by their masters to achieve their masters goals. Organisations have to have reasonable masters to achieve reasonable results for all n sundry. Ive seen too many middle to upper managers destroy morale which led to low productivity with staff who started to second guess themselves. Weve had links to thoroughbreds n harness racing presiding on the board and working. What are they doing on our boards?

Mark Staines (if a trainer, but I know he is a long time breeder n owner) and myself, lol. Nah, Id had have to look at the proposed list n go to my brains trust. Noelene Holloway, Tony Atkins, Noel McCaskie, Mr Markham, Steve Bennie, Nathan, just to name a few. If Ive missed your name I apologise. Theyre not silly and wont be pushed around. Theyre still outnumbered, but at least they have a seat at the table.

At the moment, I believe we have none, but for two participants and I believe one has an owners licence. However, I dont know for how long and if the person owns dogs.

The Board is made up of who ? Besides Iemma, name the rest ? When have we heard from the Chairperson? Wheres the half-yearly update to stakeholders from the CEO and/or Chairperson?

Well, Tony and Noelene are out. I dont know about Mr Markham n Steve Bennie. From what I know about these four Id work with any of them any day. The same with Jacqui but I dont know too much about George only that he can train a winner or two.
