No replies from both CEOs.

On another note, its funny what money can do even in a drought. Country Tbred Racing is going well and second generation horse trainers are chasing better prize money. They can thank Troy Grant for it, while he was closing our doors. The Tbreds are still hooning off us and the Govt doesnt care. Its in on it !

Northern Rivers area is looking for middle distance dogs to race. The area is only getting 2-3 nominations so GRNSW is not creating a race for them. As Lara Bingle would say, where the bloody hell are you?

Given that we look like having a total of about 110 pups to be sold, that means that a buyer has a 1 in 110 chance of winning a $40,000 race and as we know, not every pup will be ready to compete in the race series so the odds are actually even better than that, added Duclos.

An interesting comment to make.

Statistically 60% or more wont even run the 500 aswell

It still doesnt actually change the odds of being 1 in 110 from time of purchase

When the dust has settled all in all there will be around 5 heats
If your purchase is sound and strong

You will then have a 1 in 40 chance approximately, at a guess

Arent these comments pointing out the obvious mark ?

I have a slightly different spin on it. It tells me that the whelping period might be too wide and/or too early if all dogs wont be ready. If theyre not ready ..... ??

I suppose thats the nature of the beast; the risk one takes like most things. Some dogs wont get 520m early in their preparation, hence the 400m race. Maybe Im overthinking it.

Any feedback on the Golden Muzzle Puppy Auction at Richmond ? A lot of buybacks? Anyone?

A breeder told me (second-hand hearsay) that one went for a substantial amount as well as some of the breeding stock weren't of the highest quality, but he criticises everything and everyone, lol.

Maybe Mark Duclos might be able to comment. Thanks in advance if you do. Cheers. Is there a website ? I'll have a look.

I had a quick look but only at the catalogue; 130 pages - looked really good.

I just heard that Mr Iemma may have resigned from the GRNSW Board.

Is $200k-$400k about right for being an Ambassador for GAP ?

Try this link it now has all results as a pdf. The 3 sales toppers all buy backs average price around $5900. Hope that helps Mark

"I didnt see The Catching Pen but apparently Tony Mestrov was on and said that prizemoney announcements would be made in June. I wouldve thought that to make informed comments about the draft grading policy we would need to know the prizemoney allocations.

How can we possibly comment on A1 and A2 being graded as the same and Provincial B and C the same, if we dont know whether the prizemoney is also going to reflect that they are the same?"
End quote.

TAB C prize money increase is a step in the right direction, but long over due. As many will agree, TAB B p/m across the board for `Provincial Meetings' should be the next step.

Exactly Mark

You make the grass roots strong, the top of the tree will always end up stronger

You starve the roots, the whole tree dies

Does grass roots include non-TAB ?

Rod,

As far as I am aware, no. Im hoping both positive things to emerge, but the wheels turn very slowly.

However, I heard there are a few unhappy campers around Richmond, who are now making comments about due process.

I think there has been political intervention on the MNC of NSW. I believed and was told that Wauchope was first in line to receive TAB status in early 2020 and beyond. Its a one turn grassed track, in between two other tracks and Sky Racing came out last year to check on lighting and was happy with what they saw.

Ive heard off a reliable person and another person in the industry and both were told that Taree is now going to receive TAB status. Does anyone know for sure? The latter stated that there would be a big spend to convert it to loam and fix the corner start whereas Wauchope is ready to go now.

Its no use me emailing the CEO because Im still waiting for responses from the last two emails.

Wauchope was supposed to get TAB status around the same time that Gunnedah received its status (3 or so years ago) and it doesnt need too much work done to it when compared to Taree. Wauchope was in front of Temora. What others are you referring to? Armidale is not likely to return....

MARK I am referring to all tracks in genral there is never any starting dates re grafton and Goulburn and as to tracks not needing to much work, most of them need knocking over not patched up.I agree you do need a good tab track up that way lets hope you get what is needed.

Mark Yes you are right ? Mid North Coast Tracks have been waiting a long time since the promise of a TAB track, but I ask you and all, how many large one turn tracks do we ? the dogs need ? The greyhounds them selves need variation to keep them chasing as well, and there is definitely, not too much wrong with Taree, seeing it was built as a near copy of Richmond ; Going loam would suit most, even though it can , and has shown the climate supports a good grass surface, as it has always done ; By the way there is good loam available a short distance west of Taree, which would keep supply available and costs low ?? Tarre show it's viable to hold such meetings their noms hold up , to show this better than most ?? Every thing is there, good viewing ,tote, canteen bar all within public area, extra large car park, and what most don't have even the TAB tracks is room for dog walking ?? Which to all trainers is a blessing , Bob Glover

We dont have too many One Turn Tracks when we should have more, especially grassed ones. Yes, for a variation/variety, etc. Yes, good climate on MNC. Wauchope is central of the three tracks. Wauchope has pretty much the same as Taree. Grass suits most dogs
