This years Speed Star standings puts Smart Missile's 29.006 into perspective.

Grandson of Bombastic Shiraz so far he has godsend, romeo recruit, mill bling bling, bling bling buzz, and bit chilli at stud..all which in my opinion haven't exactly set the world a light so for that reason I would wait to see how he throws on...

Hopefully Sandro as all breeders would welcome a good sire...its just in Ireland bombastic Shiraz blood hasn't exactly clicked here a bit like token prince...super sire in oz disaster in Ireland... Having said that he probably didn't get the volume of bitches to make an impact here...

Bridget

The only way he can become a good sire is if breeders breed bitches to him

The link by Premier Fantasy to Irish blood

His own dam line going back to Wee Sal - the dam line of Brett Lee

Nitro Burst's damline goes back to Marungi Girl which is also further back in Brett Lee's dam line

Therefore, you have two links to Brett Lee's damline in the two parents

It will see him be suitable for a number of Irish broods

Breeders should take the time to inspect him. He is a magnificent animal in the flesh.

I wish him well but I cant see many breeders flock to him on the strength of previous bombastic Shiraz sires...

I am glad you wish him well, but your negativity is purely focussing on one part of his pedigree which is his grandsire whilst ignoring the balance of his pedigree that would nick to the high percentage of Irish broods that carry Brett Lee and Head Honcho in their pedigree

I understand no one wants to be the guinea pig but, I hope some breeders have a more open view when investigating his pedigree and his outstanding performances and provide some bitches for him

PS He would also nick very well with Kinloch Brae broods as well

Sandro my opinion is only an opinion if he is as good as you say he is what's he doing in Ireland...his stud fee is 650 from a breeders point of view why would you pay 650 for an unproven sire when you can get proven sires like skywalker puma, Droopys jet, confident Rankin, zero ten ect all for the same price...

My negativity may have been focusing on one part of his pedigree but that one part is a very important part all the other sires I mentioned also have different dam lines some as good and better than smart misiles but they do all have one thing in common and that's the sire line which in my opinion has not been successful over here...

The only reason why SM is in your country Bridget is because the do-gooders have stuff our industry in this country & our leaders have handicap breeding in certain areas.

Imo....this dog would have had 50 litters on the ground by now if the above was not true.

It would have been a very hard decision for the owners to sent this dog overseas, but they obviously want to give him a chance.

I'm sure the owners would have kept enough breeding units here in oz for those interested, once our leaders see the light & encourage breeding once again.

He's your gain & our loss.

Bridget

I respect your opinion, but I will leave you with one thought

In the USA, Craigie Mo Town sires and Molotov lines sires are few and far between and rarely used but thank god someone in Ireland had the bottle to use Kinloch Brae.

Those who had vision were well and truly rewarded in spades

Until breeders use him and test his stock no one will know how Smart Missile will throw and if Bombastic Shiraz, which makes up 12.5% of his pedigree will have a positive or negative influence on his pups

Smart breeders will already know how to use him

Just to respond as only facts and evidence can influence opinions and dispel myths.

To be able to compare the progeny of both sire lines and make an objective decision on Bombastic Shiraz just look at the disparity of numbers.

Top Honcho and Head Honcho Sons have produced in excess of 8000 litters in the last decade. Somewhere in excess of 40, 000 dogs made the track.

Bombastic Shiraz and sons have had a total of 249 litters in the same period. Around 1245 made the track. 50 % of these pups were produced by one sire. He has been disappointing,

Bombastic Shiraz on his own from 10 litters produced Bling Bling Buzz, Mill Bling Bling, Romeo Recruit, Romeo Patriot, Trade Freddie, Chenzhou Boy,
A fantastic return from tiny numbers. Its flippant to say he has been a failure based on the numbers and competition he has punched far above his weight.

Smart Missile was a racing machine and his Sire Nitro Burst (Melbourne Cup winner) is throwing pace and chase into his offspring. His dam lines on both sides are very strong. both dam lines have produced continually.

For the breeding buffs the dominant lines in the pedigree of Smart Missile are Ginger and Hotshot. The duplication of both Sires in the sire line and dam line have worked well. Also Smart Missile carries 4 crosses of Eagle Hawk Star ( Remember Frightful Flash).

With Premier Fantasy as the dam Sire this opens up the possibility of nicks with Top Honcho and Droopys Scolari broods.

Kinloch Brae broods in my opinion will be ideally suited as the duplication of Im Slippy in all crosses will produce the goods. (just look at the Top offspring of Kinloch Brae) Ballymac Vic is a product of such a cross. He also now gives a very interesting option to breeders with Superior Product dams.

As for stud fees if you have a look at the seventh kennels face book page you will see that he is available for a very reasonable fee to serious breeders.

He is here because he is the real deal, he ran against the best competed won, lost and raced always in top company. He is a Speed Star winner and a track record holder he deserves his shot.

Its not the prerogative of the top studs to find the best potential stud dogs us smaller guys can find them as well.

It's a little contraction to say special price for serious breeders but at the same time give the smaller stud man a chance...as quoted below...

I consider myself a smaller breeder I have some lovely broods some to note Alice my angel, coolavanny park, timberoe....but because I'm not a serious breeder I get charged more... You should never label anyone...its not good business...

Hi Bridget,

I completely agree with you the small guys can and do produce champions. Therefore given the lovely dams you have you are indeed a serious breeder and you are obviously very committed to your dogs. I hear you rear them well which is half the battle. Please don't take offence none was meant. To clarify the term serious in the context in which it was meant it refers to people who will look after pups and give them the best possible start. Small or large breeders there is no discrimination in our eyes we just want committed people who are serious about giving pups the beat possible chance.

If you get the chance have a look at the facebook page and avail of the reduced fees and if you want a bitch picked and dropped home after her date with Missile we can arrange that as well.

Hi Paul,
I believe the first litters are hitting the breakers so they must be around 14 or 15 months now.

He only has 4 litters registered in Australia.
First was whelped in May 2016.
Last was in March 2017.
