Wentworth park.
Over limit 29.46
Smart missile 29.43

Both track record holders and superbly bred with different bloodlines.

Over limit was rated by his trainer second best to Brett Lee think I read he was troubled trough out his career with injuries...your dog is a nice dog and could well be a success i still have a little concern on how the sire line is clicking over here how ever Dempsey duke was a poor sire his son was sensational so thiers no rules...

Smart missile was superfast but like a lot of dogs do it mainly in low grade races. His sireline I'm no fan of personally but as he is the fastest dog ever to stand in Ireland from oz his future looks well worth watching from afar. Two out your talking possibly the fastest dog in the world so he has been a great pick up Brian and well done for your vision.Could be a Kinloch brae type and change breeding.Good luck.

Hi Bridget,

Saw Over Limit twice at the Meadows in Nov '14:

29.66(Overall) 5.09(1st section) 24.57(ptp) 12.59(mid race)
29.66(Overall) 5.06(1st section) 24.61(ptp) 12.57(mid race)

Smart Missile once at Sandown Sept '15:

29.01(Overall) 5.04(1st section) 23.97(ptp)
**the mid race section wasn't recorded on the clock for some inexplicable reason

So you can compare, Smart Missile's Sandown run above converted to a Meadows approx time:

29.58(overall) 5.08(1st section) 24.50(ptp)

**The 23.97 post to post at Sandown is just low flying. I've seen My Bro Fabio go 23.88(ptp) at Sandown which I think is the fastest I've ever seen ptp but he went 5.22 in his first section which was considerably slower(3 lens slower) than Smart Missile's first section (5.04)

Wow Ryan that's a serious overview, So for us mere mortals a mere length would separate these dogs on a virtual track comparing your stats. Missile would just head it on strength and early pace. Am I correct in saying that his Sandown first sectional was scorching fast.

ha Brian we're all mortals m8, it's just simple maths........about a len and a quarter difference overall between the two with Smart Missile winning the virtual race. Over Limit does have a 5.06 at the Meadows which is about a quarter of a len quicker than Smart Missile's first section at Sandown, but your boy is faster after that on what I saw of the two.

Ironically Smart Missile's first section is the slowest part of his race but anyone here in Aus will give anything to have a dog that can run a 5.04 first section at Sandown anyday. It's very sharp. I wld consider a sub 5.01 first section at Sandown as scorching.

I personally wouldnt agree that Bombastic Shiraz as a sire line/grand sire has been disappointing in Ireland.

As an example i would argue that Romeo Recruit has done well and his stats at 20% are as good as any sire currently standing in Ireland and better in fact than most!! Maybe his dam line has a bearing on this?

Just to respond as only facts and evidence can influence opinions and dispel myths.

To be able to compare the progeny of both sire lines and make an objective decision on Bombastic Shiraz just look at the disparity of numbers.

Top Honcho and Head Honcho Sons have produced in excess of 8000 litters in the last decade. Somewhere in excess of 40, 000 dogs made the track.

Bombastic Shiraz and sons have had a total of 249 litters in the same period. Around 1245 made the track. 50 % of these pups were produced by one sire. He has been disappointing,

Bombastic Shiraz on his own from 10 litters produced Bling Bling Buzz, Mill Bling Bling, Romeo Recruit, Romeo Patriot, Trade Freddie, Chenzhou Boy,
A fantastic return from tiny numbers. Its flippant to say he has been a failure based on the numbers and competition he has punched far above his weight.

Chenzhou boy was an Australian welp... 3 of the other 5 you named were absolute dodge balls infact nearly all the trade litter packed it in...

Well Bridget here we go again you wanted a speed comparison between Smart Missile and Over limit and a noted judge who saw both dogs race has made a very detailed post from the vast local knowledge he has amassed over the years.

He has clearly stated that Smart Missile was the faster animal therefore if you can come up with a detailed first hand account providing evidence to the contrary then its time to accept the fact that your constant knocking of the Sire line is causing my phone to ring with enquiries and bookings for which I thank you for.

I also note that you have championed Over limit from the beginning and I am sure you will get rewarded for it at some time. I don't think FFK will thank you much for the wonderful promotion you are doing highlighting the fact that fastest Australian import is in fact in the rebel county. Corcaigh Abu.

Brian here's evidence of what happens when you put the Hunter Tylo damline (such as Smart Missile's), over a damline which has been very successful with Bombastic Shiraz CLICK HERE . Just won a 25k maiden - they come out of the trees to win races with that sort of prizemoney on offer, over here Brian.

Look at the sires of the dogs AKJ beat CLICK HERE
You did try to tell them.

That's amazing Ryan, there is no doubt that this damline is prepotent and yet we have people on data knocking the dog when valid live on going evidence is placed in front of them.

Its every breeders dream to breed a machine and trust me this dog will breed machines if given an opportunity. Thank you for the fantastic news. Given the fact that he is being given away in monetary terms to establish him I would urge breeders to do some test matings and give your self an opportunity to breed those machines. He is starting to get Kinloch Brae bitches from astute breeders. And its indeed great to see some American breeding in Ask King Jeffs damline.

I remember Liam Dowling covering a vast amount of his own bitch's with Ballymac Maeeve because he had faith in the dog. I am no Liam Dowling but we will cover every bitch in the kennel with him. Money is tight in Ireland at the moment and we will turn no one away if they want a bitch covered.

Ryan,

I am not sure what the list of sires of dogs behind
AKJ actually proves. The list looks no different to
any of the other races for dogs placed 2nd through to last.

The biggest positive for Smart Missile is the fact that much slower Hounds than he have succeeded abroad.

Exactly........it's an indication that Smart Missile's damline can match it with the best sire damlines around in the best races.

Lads this is only an opinion on looking at bombastic Shiraz sires here in Ireland for the reputation he had as a sire in Australia his sons have been very disappointing and that's just how it is theirs no point in dismissing the sire line and looking at the dam line most of the bombastic Shiraz sons that stood and failed over here have fantastic dam lines...now incase ye think I'm knocking the dog I'm not I'm just giving an opinion i believe to be accurate...

The problem is that your opinion is not valid you keeping referring to Bombastic sons. What we have here is a grandson of Bombastic Shiraz. In a pedigree all we have are assumptions and possibilities. Which line is brings through the speed gene. its highly unlikely that Bombastic Shiraz is responsible for the speed shown by Smart Missile it may be his Sire Nitro Burst , it may his dam sire Premier fantasy. Who knows a science degree and years studying genetics and I would not muster a guess.

What is evident is that the duplication of Black Shiraz and Big Ginger Boy/ litter brothers on the sire line and damline had a major influence in the breeding of Smart Missile.

your constantly trying to knock the dog you have made a profession out of it. keep it up publicity is expensive and your doing a great job for us,
