29.36 on debut at Sandown last Sunday, then produced a massive effort to win last night after finding trouble. She doesn't turn 2 until August!
How good could she be?

She is exceptional Jason, and like you I thought the run on Thurday was just as good, rating her running 29.37 which more importantly proved to me the initial run was not a one off.

She's a great advertisement for her sire.
I thought the Banjo Boy pup that ran 2nd was a very good run too.
Both dogs should go on to bigger & better things

Ultra impressive win that was, shwowed she can take a knock, pick herself up and still win which for a bitch of her age and experience is very impressive.

Great bitch but racing in a pretty ordinary times
Nothing against her she's a top bitch but in recent years the real good dogs seem to be winning everything. I think the 'freak' factor is not what it used to be

I think you are being a bit hard on her.
5 Group 1 wins over 500-600-700m is not an achievement to be sneezed at

All throughout Australia the quality of greyhound has dropped Sandro. She's a mighty bitch but she ain't racing Miss Grub or Flashing Floods. Think about it mate Group 1 races are not what the once were. The top shelf dogs are now winning big race after big race. There are a lot of dogs running around in G1 finals that are most certainly not G1 type chasers

Ray, top dogs are still top dogs and in the Group 1 races they still race Group 1 dogs of their time
There have always have been and always will be better dogs, but I think Fanta Bale would hold her own in any era

Fanta Bale is racing and beating the best there is "right now".
Which makes her the best there is "right now".

Can't say I agree with you sorry mate. Like in boxes Ng they often say in respect to the truly greatt fighters of each era look at who they fought.
I think the racing of today is a few levels off what it once was.

Never been a fan of comparing champs from different eras, F.B. deserves her time in the spotlight.

I thought a freak was just that....a dog that won everything! Ray Miss Grub was a very smart stayer but her record indicates she is no Fanta Bale. Exciting to watch? Sure but that more and more you find today the run on style of the bitches you mentioned is becoming a thing of the past in top grade staying races.
For me you can't compare eras either as others have said on here previously in this thread. However Fanta Bale has not only beaten the best stayers in the country but has beaten the best sprinters and middle distance dogs as well.

Stupid argument I agree totally and Fanta Bale is doing everything right, she just wins. I get she's a ultra high class animal but I just don't think the all over quality of racing exists where it once was.
The thing you have to keep in mind is that Brett Lee was a great greayhound, but if he raced out his full career in NZ he would of probably won 80 races straight. Still a great dog but would be totally allowed to get everything his own way.
You really do have to look at the quality of the dogs they defeat. Racing in Australia right now is down that's all I'm saying

Greyhound people are leaving the game in droves, what better time for the larger more professional kennels to come in and simply scoop the pool. Fanta Bale won her maiden race with two of her own litter mates in the field. The quality and quantity of good dogs is just not there

A little over a year since this thread started, Fanta Bale now
6 group 1s $894,985 Victorian Greyhound of the Year Australian Greyhound of the Year National Champion
Making a pretty strong claim as one of the greatest of all time - and she only turned 3 last week!

The big kennels can only come in and scoop the pools if you quit.......sure lots have left the game Ray.......but I think the future is going to be excellent.........and many will get back in once they see things improve.
Sure there's more paperwork and admin costs have risen......but I'm enjoying it.
The glass is half full :)
