It's Labor and they will help to defeat the NP, but get behind the Party who has supported the industry from the beginning.

I'm so impressed by the SFF that they have won me for life. I'd also like to express my admiration for Rev Fred Nile who really went out on a limb for us. We shouldn't forget these guys when we're back bigger and better than ever.

Please guys.....don't be lulled into a false sense of security by this "reversal"......which is a shallow attempt by the traitorous Libs/Nats to save their pathetic political hides!

EVERYONE in Orange still needs to put the Nats LAST!!!

SFF have already stated that they will not accept anything but a FULL reversal of the ban and will push for the Greys fair share of the ICA.

Any vote for the Nats will be a de-facto endorsement of the ridiculous breeding restrictions and track closures that the idiots from the Alliance have offered up.

DON'T DO IT!

The Nats are on the ropes.....go for the throat! Don't give the bastards an inch!

Georgina: The Thoroughbreds received many many Millions to compensate their loss of earnings. We raced till Midnight to fill the TAB quota, sometimes for less than normal prizemoney.
You would think they could afford us some support!

After what we have all been going through and losses some people have dealt with we DESERVE to be looked after in some way, even if it were to give us a grant to bring some tracks up to STANDARD,its ok to TALK about it ,lets see it put in place,or will it be like every other time it comes up and is forgotten about the next day

Shooters Fishers and Farmers MLC Robert Borsak caught the National Party with their pants down in Upper House Question Time today when they failed to rule-out greyhound track closures in or adjacent to the electorate of Orange.

The tracks raised in Mr Borsak's question were those in Bathurst, Coonamble, Lithgow and Mudgee.

"The Nationals would have rural communities believe that they represent their interests, but they can't even secure the jobs and economic activity generated by rural greyhound race tracks," Mr Borsak said.

"Troy Grant already let the cat out of the bag that the Government is making policy on-the-run concerning greyhounds, and now Upper House Nationals Leader Duncan Gay has failed to rule-out track closures in and near the electorate of Orange."

"We have a strong candidate in Philip Donato for the by-election and many National Party members have come out of the woodwork to support him because the greyhound racing ban is the final straw - it tops-off a list of times that the National Party has failed rural communities.

Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party candidate Philip Donato said he wants to take issues of the electorate of Orange right to Macquarie Street.

"The National Party are resting on their laurels because traditionally no party has been an electable alternative to them," Mr Donato said.

"That changes with me. I know I can deliver for Orange because if the Government won't stand up for my electorate then the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party will block legislation in the Upper House.

"Our balance of power status gives us the strength that the National Party has always lacked," said Mr Donato.

Mr Borsak's question in the Upper House was as follows:

"Following the Government's admission today that they got it wrong to shut down the greyhound racing industry in New South Wales, will the Deputy Premier [Troy Grant] immediately rule-out the closure of Bathurst, Coonamble, Lithgow and Mudgee greyhound racing tracks?"

Here is Mr Borsaks release on Mike Bairds so-called backdown on the greyhound racing ban.

The Government are just playing games with this issue and are really still aiming to close the industry slowly as death by over-regulation. Thats what Governments do to kill-off industries they dont like and are too gutless to properly reform.

Ill be moving amendments to any changes that go before Parliament to secure the following:

1. A full reversal of the greyhound racing ban.
2. Giving the industry the ability to self-govern.
3. Restoring all the revenue and taxation under the intercode and tax sharing agreements that sends greyhound racing's profits to horse racing.
4. Compensation for past transfers of revenue to upgrade all tracks and facilities to the latest standards state wide.
5. No forced closure of any tracks without local community support.
.

Please find below Mr Borsak's latest comments on the National Partys failure to effect the repeal of the greyhound racing ban.

Upper House National Party Leader Duncan Gay admitted in Question Time today (yesterday) that no efforts would be made on repealing the ban until the first session of Parliament in 2017.

They have ample time to repeal the ban before the November 12 Orange by-election, but wont until next year.

Even while the finer details are being worked-out, the least the National Party can do is repeal the Greyhound Racing Prohibition Bill 2016 in the next two Parliamentary sitting weeks before the Orange by-election.

We know that the Government thinks that this issue will die within two days of Mike Baird and Troy Grant's press conference yesterday (Tuesday), but rural communities are too smart for that. They need the certainty that can only be provided by repealing the legislation that effected the ban in the first place could provide.
