Gentlemen,

Baird is sticking to his guns but that is what can bring him undone, He is basing all this on the report which can be picked appart in a legal battles if it comes to it, Paul Newson was just on 2GB and he said there was very little evidence of Live baiting, we are in this for the long hall, we all need to stick together to beat them as 1.. I'm going out to get Petitions signed on the weekend & well all need to do our bit, our team will not give up so keep the faith, we need 10,000 signatures on hard copy to go to Parliment they have to be collected by the 20th which is next week, our boys said they are not interested in the severance package he offered because we are fighting this too the end.... I can't name the legal guru we have but apparently he is one of the best, parliment vote next then if that fails we take them to court... Stay strong

Sandro is it better to just take it too court or get a marginal win in parliament too stay but with a noose around our neck..surely a court battle will allow us if we win for some past injustices and consecutive government deafness to our problems like intercode and funding shortfalls to be ruled on by a higher authority. It just may be the court case we had too have anyway.

I'm not 100% how it all works but jumps racing & live exports both had their bans over-turned... We aren't from the big end of town but we have rights too.. Baird is just a inner-city Greeny who knows nothing about how the world works 50km's out of Syndey...

Looking more like he's done a deal with another politician to secure his vote. That person is likely to be Pearson from the Animal Justice Party. Bairds aim is to get the 'Safe Schools' Bill, which has been widely criticised nationwide. Fred Nile, whose vote Baird counted on in the Senate to get the Bill through, withdrew his vote.

The trade off with the AJP is the Greyhound Industry. Hence why Baird and Grant are sticking to their guns. My view anyway....

Andrew they are no different and seeing that Baird has used attrition as his reason and not offered an example of what is acceptable we can then assume 0% is his only acceptable level therefore they should have been
Given the same treatment. The horse codes have more welfare issues than dogs do

What is considered opinion on how long it would take to get to high court with injunctions in place. I would like to take part in a large Greyhound carnival in dubbo next election day bye bye GRUNT

What saddens me is the majority of horse people have chosen to sit on their wallets on this issue

I agree Noel.No matter what happens here, we need to follow through with the Court case.We have copped it for years and years, now its our turn to drive the message home on all points.Expose all the lies, from the Anti Tossers, and especially from the 750 pieces of toilet paper that the Inquiry produced.

Hi John

From what I understand of the process, you cannot put an injunction on a Bill that has been approved to go to the Parliament by the reigning political party

It needs to be debated in the Upper and Lower House to see if it will be passed

The issue that a lot of the party members are not happy about is that the issue was not debated with all of them in their own party room before it was introduced to go to the House

Baird basically fasttracked the legislation into partliament with the fanfare of the announcement without the discussion with his own people.

It was designed to get maximum political impact.

Adam , I totally agree. We need to stay strong. Despite Bairds bravado on SKY today he is a man under serious pressure. He is NOT going to cut short his holidays to come home unless there are major cracks opening up in the Coalition.
The legal eagle= David Michael John Bennett AC, QC (born 22 December 1941) is an Australian barrister and former Solicitor-General of Australia - an expert on constitutional law. Can't get much higher than him.

We had a carrier for slow dogs, Country racing (called Non/Tab racing) Please could someone ask Mr. Baird What level of prize money do these animals race for? Then compare with Country Prize money levels? for Horses. Dogs between $240-$350 Horses $15,000-
$20,000 I may be wrong on the horses, but very close I believe.
Country Non/Tab racing closed indefinitely. If you cant feed your dogs? is this a Welfare issue?
Racing for $350 a win, your in it for the love of the sport!
