Kevin, Although I can't disagree with some of the points you have raised I have to disagree with the above one. The implication that we(I assume you are referring to the people of NSW) will be the ones "destined to end racing for all of Australia" is a little below the belt. Baird's decision was based on animal cruelty shown in footage taken in other states of Australia. We just happened to be the guinea pigs that have had to fight on "everyone's" behalf to eliminate the decision being rolled out into other states. I do not need to quote who the culprits are as that has been well publicised. How about we leave the I said, you said out of the conversation and see what the future holds going forward if Baird makes the announcement today.

Yep Tony i agree I through that one in for a bit of debate and conjecture ... It's great to see an active participation from a lot of new Members on Data . Let me add this to the mix . Students and Teens aged from 10 to 21 who have now formed their own opinions and this is where we must ensure we have a greater education and Awareness into these age Groups because they are our Future . In Schools today there is Debate in regards to Greyhounds and Greyhound racing . Mostly it's all bad ..
We must ensure we have 100% accountability from Birth to Death and this is number one regardless what some people say this is our only way forward once all the bullsh1t has settled and everyone has had their say ..
I am still waiting for our so called leaders in each State to step up and demand we must change our way of thinking RIGHT NOW ... I feel we are letting ourselves down if we don't all try to rehome and once again this will stabilise our Industry but this must happen NOW not in 3 months or 6 months time and we do our it to ourselves to ensure we have a future for our Kids as well in the Greyhound industry and if we let this one slip we will all be looking at new direction something that we will not be able to control ..because it will be too late ..

Kevin Your suggestion on education reminds me of 30 odd years ago when I was asked by a friend to bring a couple of racing dogs to her school and have a chat with the kids , from this one visit I ended up visiting nearly every Primary School in the Yarra Valley with numerous requests for retired dogs . Maybe that is something authorities from all States could look at doing from an educational point of view but the way these schools are run at the moment it might be a hard task

David Yes this is what we need to do now ... We need to work with adoption groups and foster groups and we need to do this right now and people need to start talking about this and EACH CLUB can play an active role in this so i suggest and URGE to every Clubs committee to discuss this at your next meetings .
We cannot all sit back now and it is up to everyone to make sure we have a viable future and it is through EDUCATION that we can achieve the maximum results .
