Did you notice he didn't want to touch on the inter-code agreement. So that we can get our fair share.

The Supreme Court may be a good time to bring it up if they don't start addressing it as part of a reform package for the industry as per McHugh's recommendation no. 64.

Exactly Sandro. It has to be part of the reform. We need our fair share to be able to put in place whats needed to run the industry. As in Safer tracks welfare & prize money.

GRNSW must go if we are granted 3 year's to reform, it has failed the industry dismally. We need a uniform model of regulation for all states IMO.

if its going forward in every other state and territory then it has to work here with other states being able to enforce laws.
I think Mike Baird forgets that most of the horrific footage on 4corners was from QLD and VIC

IF common sense prevailed and NSW was given the opportunity prove its viability over 3 years, the first thing that should be implemented is a National Authority with one set of rules and guidelines for all states.

The Greyhound Industry of Australia need's to reform, this is not just a NSW issue, we must if given the opportunity to reform be "proactive" not "reactive".

Just don't forget it's the MINORITY and a extremely dodgy report that got us here in the first place. A 3 year transition would be great followed up by a PROPER and transparent report. We can only hope. I do believe if it can be done financially we should follow through with the judicial side of things and make a serious statement

Even a change from 13% to 17-18% would make a huge difference

The Trot's are surviving on the back of Greyhound Racing, for the Greyhound Industry to re home Greyhounds 13% just won't do.

I just listened to the Ray Hadley interview where it stated adverts are being placed in the newspapers saying "Greyhound Racing is only legal in 8 countries".
Well just of the top of my head I know greyhound racing is legal in the countries listed below as I have attend race meeting in most of them:
Australia, USA, New Zealand, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland (both North and South), Germany, Poland, Hungary, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France and Sweden.
There is probably a lot more.
My god if they got it wrong with something as easy to research as this no wonder they got it wrong with every other statement they have made.

problem now is that the fellow who was on Ray's show today who is supposedly standing up for us says the greyhounds don't need the extra funds that we are robbed of and that we should get a 3 year grace period.
Well I'd love to know how on earth we achieve what ever the hell we are suppose to without the extra funding?
And now Ray Hadley is saying that we should be allowed to continue with the other 79 recommendations.
They are still missing the point that the report is a scam and should have no bearing on judging greyhound racing in NSW. There are just too many flaws in it to make any decisions at all on the industry.
Seriously though what reforms do we honestly need that is any different to horse racing etc.?
There has been virtually no evidence of live baiting in many years. Yes after the s^^^ hit the fan regarding the 4 corners fiasco there is need to crack down on the practice, but its not very complicated surely.
So that leaves the wastage issue. Put more funding into rehoming the greyhounds that can become pets. Not hard to do.
And again why should there be such a crackdown on us but the horses are worse and yet there is no issue with their wastage?

JMO. (For what it is worth) It is in court tomorrow to call the "document" null and void. If this is the case and the outcome favourable (mind you it would probably be set down for a couple of months later this year) I would imagine that the ENTIRE document would be (A) thrown out / or (B) accepted. If it were to be thrown out as null and void, I would think that would also include the other 79 recommendations as well as the first (which Baird has chosen)
Should it be a successful case, I could think the only way forward for NSW is to follow and mirror the path of GRV and the extensive reforms they have made and are making.
It is a shame that GRV cannot take over control of GRNSW and have a 2 states code.
Cheers. Rich.

Hi Noel,
Your thread was removed as one had already been started on that topic.

Successive Governments have been loathe to amend the InterCode agreement because of the legal ramifications.
Easier to do is amending the distribution from the Tax Parity benefits for all 3 codes by increasing our 11% allocation. I still doubt if they'll give us our 22% entitlement but hey, if we could get a few more $Million, it would improve our lot for the time being.
