Very sorry to hear Tina, but in the name of god what are they spending the 16m every year that they cant help these two tracks that has closed in the last two days

The IGB get 16.8 million per year from the Governments horse & greyhound fund to run this industry, that is equal to 323.000+ per week to keep the show on the road, when you take out the large IGB salaries which amounts to 13.4 million per year that leaves 3.4 million to provide for everything else, it does not stack up, where is all the money going? the IGB yearly accounts are still not published WHY??? the books are in a total mess again & again & again, how much more has to happen before it will become clean to everyone what is happening, i am not writing this for the crack its facts and if we dont get this board shifted they will shift us all JMHO.

So tell me Dave....What is your Limited Company planning to do to help GREYHOUND OWNERS AND RACERS..........

Apart from you coming onto Data and talking IGB hate.....what else have you done because the last few weeks your whole Company has been Notable only by its abscence????

Please answer we are really interterested..

Didn't Tony Walsh in the RTE show that he starred in and your lot supported, ask for all funding to be stopped !.
Talk about hypocrisy, you "shifted" this industry and everyone in it JMHO.

I AM RACING GREYHOHNDS IN lONGFORD FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS. Friday morning 9/8/19 we were told that would cease at the end of august this means the end of greyhound racing for me and many many more loyal people that love their dogs . 80 years of greyhound racing gone forever .
To make matters worse i am looking at posts here that have nothing to do with longfords demise . You people that are on here purporting to represent decent dog people frankly its embarrassing .If i was to stay in racing i wouldnt want any of you people representing me .

Longford are racing tonight and also on Friday night. Friday night will feature the Final of the 5000 to the winner Liam Clancy & Harry Ryan Memorial Longford Derby.
The fundraising effort is building momentum. Between donations so far and the GoFundMe page we have about 8000 raised since last Thursday night. We are hoping that this will rise considerably tonight. Its important to keep the momentum going as time is running out. I will post an update on the figure tomorrow. Thanks so much to the Greyhound Data team who have a pop up on this page to lead people to our Gofundme page this week. We really appreciate your help!

Longford Track Supporters Club Fundraiser:
The response to our fundraising drive has been truly amazing! The donations have been coming in from far and wide. Thank you to every single one of you. It is very heartening.
Between donations at the track, bank transfers and our GoFundMe page we have passed the 19.000 mark!
We need to keep the momentum going now as our first deadline is Monday August 26th.
Thank you to the Greyhound Data team who have created a link straight to our GoFundMe account ! We really appreciate your help.
We hope to see as many as possible of you at the Final of the Liam Clancy & Harry Ryan Memorial Longford Derby on Friday night !

Statement from Longford Greyhounds Ltd: We are delighted to announce the rxeopening of Longford on Wednesday the 25th for racing!
This is a result of the exceptional efforts of in particular Joe Quirke who has gone to great lengths to make the reopening possible along with the support of the fundraising committee. A huge thanks to all the contributors to the fund without their support it would not be possible to recommence racing. Thanks to all involved...they have created real hope for the future of this great venue. We appreciate the efforts of the companies employed to carry out the work for finishing in such a timely manner and their high standard of work .
We have confirmation from the fire officer to race and would like to thank him for his help throughout the process. We also appreciate the patience showed by everyone involved in the last few weeks, especially owners/trainers and staff.
A 12 race card will take place this Wednesday night .First race 8pm. A full trial schedule will recommence tomorrow Tuesday 24th.
Longford is back in action so please show your support by coming racing and trialling your dogs!
Next NO2 unraced 330 at Longford is October 7th .
Entries Required for A0-A1 525 6 dogs race on Monday 30th.
