Steward's Report Bear's Gold was quick to begin. In A Spin checked off Von Magic on the first turn, checking Cool Boots. Bear's Gold faltered approaching the home turn and pulled up, severely checking True Colours
Bear's Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg tarsal fracture, and was humanely euthanased.
He was your pride and joy Jamie, cant imagine how you'd be feeling. Deepest sympathies.

Jamie
I am really feeling for you mate & Mrs Q.
To back up and handle a littermate in the race after would have been very hard.
All the best and chin up

Terrible news Jamie, The "Bear" certainly took you both on a wonderful journey and we were lucky enough to watch in awe his blinding speed. Nothing can take away those marvellous memorable wins. RIP Bear

Thanks for everyones kind words at the track, texts, calls, emails and on this forum. He was a highly respected dog and that gives me great comfort. He broke his hock and also the fibula tarsal at the back, which would have been a slow and painful recovery. What a great dog he was for us. Its heart breaking. I'm so proud of him.
We have to carry on. It's the only way. And now the next 'Bear' begins his journey. Pressure is on young Fritz....

Posted on behalf of Jack Ogilvie who unfortunately has been hospitalised for a fortnight and has no I-net access. Jack was saddened to hear of your loss Jammie as he "The Bear" was the star of the RLF team. Jack a veteran of the game said that the good times always outweigh the bad times in the game so keep going on. I told him your taking it remarkably well on here. - Macwollie

Thanks Jack. I don't take being called 'Jammie' very well though.
Get out of hospital old mate, I need some more black tar soon.
