Mark M. Whats size got to do with fast dogs? How big was Brett Lee?
Yep same as Fernando!
Perhaps Mr. Campbell you can name the Breaker, and we can ALL check his capabilities?
Gee give them some time!

Size hasn't got anything to do with how fast a dog is Terry so not sure what what your saying. If you read the thread he was just trying to get a gauge of what people have heard or seen and that's the general comment on both sires that I've heard/seen at this early stage. Don't think anyone was writing the sire off just yet.

Mark: You stand a Sire, the last thing you want or need is bad publicity (unproven)
Good manners dictate "if you have nothing good to say , say nothing"
That's not aimed at you Mark, Generalisation

If a breaker tells you that the Fernandos he's broke in have been good chasers but fairly average on time you don't pipe up and say 'you dill' (maybe you would).
People ask for early reports and WE have reported what has been said.
Not really hard mate.
AND I don't think that Westy or Paul care one bit about early reports nor do I at this stage because they have half a brain but early reports are early reports so relax no one here has decided his fate that I could see.

So tell us how many your breaker has broken in?? of FB 5-10-100???

A lot more then you and I Darren that's all that counts with early reports.
Ring Paul I'm sure he will tell you what he knows.
Hope that helps mate.

It sounds like some are trying to "slag" the early break ins to try to pick up a cheap straw........

So we could we safely say it closer to 5-10 rather than 100??

Let's hope the industry doesn't go by early reports from breakers as we know there has been plenty of dogs " who broke in slow " that turned out pretty handy.

For me forget about " Early Reports " from breakers. Let's wait and see how many pups get named and make the race track.

One thing I've learnt about this industry stats don't lie but second hand info rarely holds its value. Especially when it comes from breakers.

I always do my research and asking the breakers how there going is the best form you can do at this early stage . I was looking to use fernando bale on our brood brook's doll . Though early reports I will wait another 6 months before I start using fernando bale as a sire . Thanks Luke Anderson .

I might add the recent Auction I went to there was about 5 straws up for sale . 4 straws went for more or very close to what they are worth but one went for well under its standing price . Might mean nothing but I found it very odd.

True market value maybe ? I know it is hard to sell pups and straws would be no different I would imagine.
There is plenty of good dogs at stud, breeders can afford to wait till they are real and truely proven now.

Darren the "very next" poster went by early reports and will now wait.
A fairly smart industry participant I'd say.
Wait and see if things improve!
Or if there was good early reports then go for it!

I hear people shouted down for relaying break in times, slow or fast. Always get people saying 'break in times mean nothing'. I wish I had a dollar for every time that scenario played out.

Also, If I had a dollar for every person who said 'his pups look great' I'd be very rich....yet I never hear these people shouted down by saying 'looks don't mean anything'.

Time will be the judge on everything but the heading is 'Fernando bale pups on the track'. Most people want to hear whatever limited info is out there, it's the only thing to go by at the moment. For every slow break in report for a freshman sire there's usually the opposite too I've found.

I hope to use the dog down the track.

A friend of mine has a dog that only broke in
in 14.90 at Glengarrie.
Most people would have off loaded him based on that time.

He's now won 33 races, some in very slick time.

I'll put my hand up for any Fernando Bales that break in slow before they are advertised as give aways.
I'll bet a price tag will be put on them and then the usual story slung that "they came on season" half way through the coarse or they had tonsillitis and will improve "heaps".

I'll wait for the Private Messages to be sent to me for the freebies.....

I helped breakin very early Brett Lee pups 2 x half litters, both from proven city producing dams.
Not much in about 6 or 7 pups.
Not much of an indication on what was to come.
Fernando will throw some flying machines no doubt about it.
He will throw some dams that will be right up there with THE best

The breakers have their education times and they have their cut off times then they have there above average times but another thing I like to see is a sires pups being named especially when they are getting up around 16 t0 18 mths old

I have no idea how Fernando Bale will end up as a sire nor do I have any early reports. However, the above quote in the original post may end up the most important - especially in todays environment.

I think having a sire with a semi imported or outcrossed pedigree makes it v/difficult as the dam has to to do twice the work with regard to generating those vital linebreeding niches.

Having said that I also think he will click particularly well with bitches that have had success with Turanza Bale or No Intent in their line.

Which bitches do you think he'll click with Jim ?

I lost a FB pup a couple of weeks back from a full sister to My Bro Fabio which was disapointing.
I think some people need to relax and take this information for what it was and not a statment that condemned FB to stud dog damnation.
If a breaker a VERY WELL KNOWN ONE says he's broken in a few FB pups now 'EVERYONE HERE' would ask how did they go?
When the breaker gives you that information you don't pull a knife and stab him in the ribs for the answer you listen, take it on board and make a logical opinion (normal people would anyway).
He will produce somthing it's near on impossible for him not too.

Van I believe he will be the super Bobniak throw good dams .
The dams he will throw to will be intensely linebred and of course to Bale establishment lines.
