I said it a year ago he was a champion race dog now he is a champion stud dog he will be in my opinion as good as brett lee if not better time will tell.

That's a huge call John, but of all sires standing at the moment, my figures show he has had the best start to his career of any young sire since the great dog

With no Brett Lee, Bombastic Shiraz or Just The Bestin his pedigree he is a perfect complement with all the bitches carrying this blood

You could well be right

I too really like how he is ticking over. I also think the Gable Dodge sireline in general is going to kick plenty of goals out here in the coming years.

$5500 coming up lol

ITS now OFFICIAL $5500

I am surprised they didn't go straight to $6600. If a dog ever earned it, it is Fernando Bale.

Yes, an exceptional start, no denying that. But spend two hours doing research into litters produced. Not the be all end all. Had a magical start to stud career with provided bitches. Don't get carried away. Barcia Bale, same.. Purely a numbers game. It's all about the bitch. The stud , a selling point and adding value. Then the flavour catches on. (Barcia has served more bitches than the great Brett.) Is he a better sire?

Not the be all to end all?? So after your research what did you find?

Hes going as good if not better than any fresh sire going around.
Flavours only catch on when stud dogs throw winners after winners which this dog has.

I would have no problem using this dog again even since we have just had a litter broken in and are not chasing properly and will need a lot more work, time.

What I have learned about FB you need to put a lot of time into them when they are young and the ones that chase can bloody run like the wind.

Found it interesting that an experienced breeder told me you need to put a strong bitch to FB. Surprised me as I've seen plenty of strong dogs by him. Thought that was the least of worries.

I think what russ is saying is yes he has had a very good start to a stud career, but it isn't that hard to look good when 60% of the dogs going around are by the one sire and every decent broodie has a litter to him.

Before Fernando the majority were by fabregas or Barcia bale, before that it was Magic Sprite, before that irish sires, before that collision or wheres pedro, before that bombastic shiraz, before that brett lee.

it's just who is the flavour of the month at the time. The next flavour will be American sires (if it already isn't).

Go with what your Seeing Ray, and your instincts. I'd love to use him again. Read last week where there is a Marathon winning bitch in the bloodlines. Maybe the key strength factor.
Jono Campbell is the only person I've heard say, he'll never have another one! Didn't elaborate to much why?
IT'S A YES FROM ME! Lol

i'd happily use Fernando bale still, he's convinced me. even though the only litter I've had much to do with by him are a bit gutless, but the broodie was gutless so can't really blame Fernando for that.

Matt: We all know it's a numbers game. Win Group/Races, Million in P/Money, Go to stud, Get the Best bitches. A natural progression that has served this Industry since the beginning. If it's not F/B it's just like you said B/B, Mag/Spr, Fabregas. People try and replicate these dogs racing deeds. Their money their choice.
You don't have a flavour of the month, without WINNING heaps of races. Sounds to me like someone would love to use him (F/B) but cant afford him. (Russ not u Matt)

We don't know that, I personally don't think any sire is worth $5500 in this current climate and wouldn't use him unless I had the right broodie.(but if I had the right broodie it probably doesn't matter who the sire is)

i'll be honest, i've learned my lesson with the flavour of the month sires. I'm not a fan of Barcia Bale, Fabregas or most of the irish sires (only ones worth that were any good were premier fantasy/spiral nikita lines). but I do like magic sprite and have swayed on Fernando bale/American lines.
