GRSA stewards recently convicted a trainer of improper conduct for handling a dog's genitals prior to boxing it at Angle Park. He was fined
$1000 (250 of that suspended).

It would appear to be a lenient punishment in comparison to other fines and suspensions in SA when the inappropriate manipulation of the dog's genitals was done in full view of a television audience, not to mention the reason for doing so.

Hi Graeme totally agree with your comments,if it occurred outside of racing this performance would be before a judge facing a custodial sentence.Recently there was a person jailed in Brisbane for acts like this and yes another lenient sentence. For the good of greyhound racing and it's participants lets hope the incident does not go viral

he screamed & growled at the same time.so their no different to us,it does hurt.

An experienced trainer pulls a dog off in full view of the entire world and pleads not guilty = $750.

An old lady and her 2 young granddaughters say a few swear words in the kennel house and admit guilt = $450, $300 + $200.

That is an absolute disgrace.

I have to break my cone of silence .....
Did he grab the dogs aggits .
Did he sqease them like he was rolling around a stress ball
Did he use a left or right hand .
Did he use a forward motion or a backward motion ...
Was it a slow back and forward or a agresive back and forward motion ...
At any time did you see any red lipstick poke out of its pouch ..
..
If this was done with the intent of HURTING the dog then far more serious action should be taken .
If this is a habit or that he just does out of frustration then best check out his previous starts and see if he does this to any other dogs in his care or was this one dog that special that he needed a Cotton wool before it jumped ..

As a person who has played around with a Stud dogs goodies a few times i know that any dog touched the WRONG WAY will show pain and it is very very sensitive area ...

I believe this case should be heard again and the Trainer should be Questioned as his INTENT ....Great way to slow a dog up ...Great way to work a dog up who lacks desire ....

The intent was to CHEAT THE SYSTEM ...Plain and simple ...

My take on this personally is that if the trainer in Question did this for a gain to either PULL THE DOG or too EXCITE the dog to help win then we do need to ask more Questions and yes JQ that case of the older lady and her two grand Daughters tells a tale of just how things are going in SA .

I can see it now all these new people wanking dogs off or squeezing there balls just because this Professional Trainer does it so that good enough for them to do it and surely not everyone has missed the boat again with this and once again it is shuffled under the Carpet .

Check out the Hearings in each State and you will clearly see a huge preference for the 5% club.

COMMERCIAL players ...are our disease and our industry must take back control before all of our rights as Hobby OTB are lost.

We have a Industry that was based SOLELY on performance and profit so what about bringing back the money to the lower levels and reduce the High amounts payed out to Group races and these races are run at a loss because they take their money away from the cheaper dogs the lower class dogs and just look at a tier 3 meeting compared to The Meadows Mid week and that in it self tells its own tail .

We look at individuals who own many dogs and today those people still want to over breed but they also want us all to take there WASTAGE like we have done for the last 20 years ..

All the doors are closed as far as exporting slow dogs out of the Country and these commercial players have a huge amount of dogs still to come through the SYSTEM as wastage so who again creates more WASTAGE the little guy or the big guys ..

As a punter like all Aussies we would bet on just about anything that moves or has a number attached to it so the punter has grown under the present condition and they do want product regardless if they are legless the betting pools still grow each month so surely we cannot use that excuse any more and Tracks are finally getting slowed down and longevity should be rewarded as well as AGE of each dog ....

Veterans racing for huge money is far more attractive to me and it will be far more attractive to all the ANTI mobs combined ....
Amagine dogs aged 5 and over being able to race for good stake money and this will help protect the longevity of Greyhounds in Australia and if we reward LONGEVITY then we are half way there but we must start today not next year .

PS

Before you ask me I was told GD had only a few reports last week and i felt thats no good and being a new year JQ that i would start it off once again with DEBATE CONJECTURE ..EDUCATION ...AWARENESS...

I have sat here watching things trickle along once again so i thought why not pick up some spirits and post a few times for a bit of Friendly banter .

...I am not part of GD ....I do not run any more facebook groups ...

I am totaly free of all commitments to other groups ..

2017 will be a power packed year ....Expect CHANGE expect Harassment Expect people snooping around the tracks your kennels your suburbs with DRONES flying over head .....

Drones are being used now by all of these groups and you cannot hear them but they are about ..

Xmas was a mess for AA crew but dont expect them to go away and i believe they are ramping up other things in other States as well..

Car BUGS ....Clones ....Illegal taps on phones and WI fi Camera equipment

I suggest people start writing down number plates of cars they see either following or parked down the road from them ...

I suggest people to stay away from Gum Tree when purchasing gold fish and other fish paraphernalia ...

I also suspect the Commercial boys will try and defend their actions and i know just how much you all hate reading this stuff but today in 2017 you have me back attacking you at every chance i get ....

I will stop when there is a fair balance of power returned to the 90% club and yes it had a name change from the 80% to now the 90% club because that truly reflects the true amount of Amateurs to PROS ....

Round one ....

I wasn't on track that night but I have seen the vision of the "incident" .... The vision show absolutely zilch ! His arm moving in the exact fashion forwards and backwards like you would patting or rubbing any dog. If that was what he was intending to do you would think you would choose to do it when your dog hasn't drawn the pink and in clear vision of the camera. I would like to know what was said in the inquiry! Cause if it was a game of cricket the batsman woulda been safe as houses.'

No third umpire required so you say Damien .....

Was it close to being called a no ball ..or was it clearly a case of tampering with the bat and ball

Couldn't agree with you more Damian. I too seen the footage. You could clearly see him rubbing the dogs tummy behind dogs rug as his left arm was around the dogs head holding him. I tried it on my dogs and to grad the dogs dick u really needed to really reach in which on the footage u can see he clearly didn't. Either that or the dog he was handling has a 250mm dick who knows. It was footage if u seen it u would prob have a joke to ur mate but u dam well knew he wasn't doing anything. Was suprised a fine was given. I think if he was a no name trainer there wouldn't of even been a complaint.
Damien ur correct on a run out in cricket if there isn't enough evidence it's not out.
With the footage u can see him running the dogs tummy. No where can u see his hand touch the dogs dick so in my eyes it's not out. Inconclusive evidence. If it was at court it would be thrown out ( laughed at) and if they did it to me I would fight it all the way but prob a lot easier to pay $700-$800 and move on than Hire a lawyer and spend time and money and fight it.

Where can someone view the Steward's Report (date / location of meeting, or Inquiry date would be appreciated, please?)

Without knowing the voracity of the charge or the "facts" of this case, anyone with knowledge of greyhounds knows it is common for Handlers (pardon the pun) to manipulate back / hip / chest / stomach muscles immediately prior to boxing a dog; or give it a reassuring pat or "rub".

Is it possible that this may have been all that was going on here? From a side on / unusual camera angle, some of these legitimate and harmless (possibly even beneficial) acts may "appear" to be untoward...
