Still hope your dog win's the Gold Lotte. Best of luck..

Thanks very much Liam Taylor. I really feel for the owners of Burgess Popeye who broke his hock in a trial in Cork last night and therefore won't be running in the semi final of the Gold Cup, any owners worst nightmare.

I'm with ya 100 per cent Lotte. It's heartbreaking for connections, great dog people losing a dog of a lifetime.

Once again I will emphasis this is a country wide problem. This is NOT just Harolds Cross, this is an effort to prevent a money making Stadium from being closed.
What chance do the other Stadia on Dr. Brady's list for closing have if the IGB
manage to close a money maker? NONE, Absolutely NO CHANCE OF SURVIVAL. We are endeavouring to secure the Future of ALL Irish Greyhound Tracks.
Right now Harolds Cross needs your wholehearted support. We will then get behind your Local Stadia to see that it remains open.
Owners, Breeders, Trainers, Bookmakers and Staff at Stadia are going to come under pressure from the IGB. They will want YOU to move your support from the GOBAS. This would be a grave error on your part as they will hang you out to dry, like they did with Miss. Larkin.
The money they would receive from the Sale of Harolds Cross has been committed to reduce the Overdraft. They will then have to reduce their costs. How does one reduce the running costs of the remaining Stadia? Simple they close more Stadia, and reduce the Prize Money. The Greyhound Man and Woman will suffer. As in keeping with the Board Policy they will make YOU pay. I can assure you there will be no contribution from the Board. They will continue to Fleece the Greyhound Man and Woman. While continuing to draw a Salary and very Generous Expenses all at your expense.
I'm informed that a Board meeting was held one night last week. Nothing strange about that, however the gentleman relaying the informed to me maintains a well known Trainer attended that meeting. Can anyone confirm if this is the case. Another I await confirmation on is :- At a time when the Industry is experiencing its worst ever Crises and the IGB should be doing everything possible to survive, the IGB Chairman has time to land at Kilkenny Track to carry out Trials with his Coursing dogs.
I have managed to do little work in my business over the past few weeks, as I am bogged down in the Greyhound Crises.
Rumours that the Gates of Harolds Cross will be Chained up after Racing on Tuesday night, need to be confirmed. Any attempt to lock Track Staff or Tote Staff out of their place of employment will be met with the wrath of their Union, SIPTU.
Furthermore it will increase the pressure on the GOBAS to take immediate action by placing an ALL OUT Protest at ALL Irish Stadia.
Your Opinions are required on this subjective. Please let us know how many members you have available for Thursday.
Alan Redmond. PRO. DGOBA
DIRECTOR,
Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium.

It takes months and months of effort to get dogs ready for racing and it's difficult enough to keep them fit and right.

So if this is really management's intention and they lock the gates, they will have the mother of all welfare issues to deal with.
Minister Creed would need to think this one through. After all he's the organ grinder.

Bridget, the time is NOW we are never going to get an opportunity like this again. As I said when this campaign started, the soldiers are on the march up the hill. I don't wish to turn them around to march back down. Ideally we will march on to the top and achieve our aims. To do this WE MUST ALL ACT AS ONE UNIT. This is a country wide problem and therefore it must be dealt with as such.
Thursday see us back outside the DAIL, where we will hold a peaceful protest. We need a very large crowd outside the DAIL. It is understandable that we won't have the same numbers as we would on a Saturday night outside Shelbourne Park. TV Stations are hoping to interview representative from the Country GOBAS in order to get their opinions on the Stadium Closures. So let's have as many, Men, Women, Children and Dogs as is pissible.
Looking forward to seeing you ALL on the Day.

The newspaper reports Hx as the first of 5 to shut with Newbridge, Clonmel, Mullingar, Enniscorthy and the Board's subsidy to Longford all hanging in the balance.

Yes, I would support 'All Out Protest' but preferably to IGB owned tracks.

Dr Brady is a serial hatchet man brought in by the government to close down the greyhound industry just as he did the Irish Sugar industry. Make no mistake, this is all out war with the very future of greyhound racing at stake. Nobody should be siding with the IGB and there must be absolute unity if the greyhound industry is to survive.

Question:- WHERE WILL THE NEWBRIDGE GREYHOUND FOLK RUN THEIR DOGS?
JUST GOT LIMERICK, I LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE EXTENSION NUMBER THE YOUNG LADY PUT ME THROUGH TO. I AWAIT A CALL FROM DR. BRADY.
WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED.

Hi Alan,

the article is in the Irish Daily Star. We have set up a poll on GIGIS among our FB members who have so far all voted in support of an 'all-out protest' but the voting is split between an all-out protest at all Irish tracks or all IGB owned tracks.

People are asking if this protest will go ahead so as they do not enter their dogs on the racecards. Need to decide asap if this is going ahead.

I am reliable informed that Limerick GOBA will not partake in any protest at their Stadium. When I asked why they would not support the industry, I was told they are all members of the Phil Meaney Fan Club. Let me assure all those involved in the Limerick GOBA, your Stadium is not safe either. At the rate Limerick is loosing money the good Dr. will be considering your future. Remember Phil will be gone so he wont be able to give you any support.
ALL loss making Stadia will be closed under Dr Brady's stewardship.
STILL NO RETURN CALL FROM PHIL OR DR BRADY.
ADAM, WE CAN ONLY WORK WITH FACTS CAN YOU PUT UP THE NAME OF THAT TRAINER YOU MENTIONED, IN YOUR EARLIER POST.
TRYING TO CONTACT COMMITTEE ON PROTESTS. WILL REVERT TO YOU ASAP.

Poll running on GIGIS over 1 hour now.

Unanimous support for an 'ALL-OUT PROTEST but 50/50 split on whether it should be ALL Irish tracks or just ALL IGB OWNED Irish tracks.
