Deserves his own thread. Young dog that makes Grp race finals and again makes it into the Australian Cup. I'd like to see him crap one.

You should think about buying his Dam Johnno & putting her to Jagger Swagger. I reckon you'd probably get 8 or 9 pups ;-)

What a top dog Johno, any dog who makes a group final is amazing, when they make multiple group finals they become special. Good luck in the Australian Cup Final mate.

Mick and Andrew as long as there's no confusion Matt Machine isn't owned by myself but rather I've got his mother at home. I obviously follow Matt's races and Id like to see him crack one for connections. I've never really had a problem selling pups in the past but she's the first bitch I've had were buyers are ringing before the pups are born. Any way good luck to the dog but there is some very quick beginners he will need to contend with in the final.

I like reading Braschys articles but every now and again he goes off on a tangent and makes categorical nothing statements that I find absurd.
In the article on Matt Machine he says an outcross mating can throw up a good un, maybe even another that can run a bit but the downside can be a lack of numbers with ability. Of course there are always exceptions to every rule.
To justify his argument he cites a litter from a bitch that he admits had 5 starts and never once ran a place. Instead of saying that Avatar has produced two class gallopers (Exs and Ohs is the other one and she has won 3 from 9 including two at The Meadows) from a poorly performed bitch he puts a negative slant on the sire .. as in him being an outcross.
He could have used the example of Ebby Miss whos litter by Avatar has all eleven pups named and includes top class gallopers in Ebby Ripper, Utah Miss, Ebby Chance and Suffragette or he could have used the litters from Quiz Bale, Searle Bale, Kingston Bale or Dellbrezie where nearly all the pups are named but Im guessing they are all considered exceptions to the rule.
SH Avatar is off to a flyer as he only has 9 litters of racing age in Australia with his 10th litter born here only 14 months old and Im very keen to see how his next litters turn out on the racetrack .. hoping that there are a few more Matt Machines in the mix
