MOSS VALE, the family track. A bush track with not much prizemoney on offer. A few bookies. A bunch of nice people to race against week in week out.

Liked Penrith also to race on a Saturday night.

Oddly, with one exception - and leaving out the straight tracks - all those mentioned have serious design faults in their layouts. So the judgements are based on earning a dollar, which is fine as far as it goes but it does suggest a degree of luck is involved.

Unfortunately, that sort of luck does not extend to punters on whom the payouts depend. They require more amenable circuits and a minimum of disruptions. That is too hard to get these days which is probably why many serious punters have deserted the sport and cash comes more now from mugs in pubs.

The exception - Toowoomba was excellent for both the 457m and 555m which is - or was - that rare middle distance trip which does not start on a bend. A great pity it has been lost.

No Bruce my Judgement is based on the Greyhounds who raced at that time and the enjoyment i got from "being there" to see it.
W.P. is now a Billy Goat track and probably the NO 1 reason behind 6 Dog fields being introduced ???

Always was and still is Richmond

The racing on it last Friday night for the Derby and Oaks with Group Class dogs going around in nearly every race, show it up as being superior to Wentworth Park
