Putting pressure on the board by public out cry is gonna do a couple of things 1 yer not really gonna be listen to 2 bring in fines and fees that will cost us all 3 bring in regulation that will put some of ye out of the sport I'd say instead of presuming nothing will be done get behind them and hope something will be done ya know sometimes it's better pet the horse than flog him...

Listen there will be nothing done with it it will be swept under the carpet as always and that's fact this board will never change fact the game will never be a level playing field till a new board is in and the penalties need to be stricter

Bridget , what happened to "no hell no " " a big fat know " and Joe I disagree with you I think something will be done about this positive given in the Laurels. What and when is something I don't know . But you are all missing the point. These positive tests were given in JULY . Now with all the singing and dancing when the new machine was unveiled , I am sure the whole of the industry would not have expected it to take 9 weeks or more to bring a test result to the public. The handling of this case is diabolical. Whether the trainer is guilty o0f offence or not is NOT the point.
WHO was first to receive this result ?
WHEN did he/she receive this result ?
WHAT did they decide to do with it ?
IMO the trainer is a very small part of this shambolic affair.
The procedure for this sample result CAN NOT be allowed to happen again. And I repeat , THIS BOARD IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

I'll tell you what happened I believe the CEO now in charge needs a chance I believe also that the last few months and all the protest ect has made some changes in the boards mind set towards our sport...and I also believe that if you keep going against the grain your gonna get a splinter in your finger...theirs changes coming and these changes are going to drive some of ye out of the game...for instance look at all the paperwork now involved...kennel hand liences meat licences passports yearly medical report the list goes on and on and it's gonna get bigger yer kennels will need proper surage system and air-conditioned and all steel yell all need to do courses on caring for greyhounds and theirs a string of more things coming down the line... And when they do yell all blame the board when infact it's all yer own doing I'm not backing the board Liam I'm just saying it as it is...can the general public meet all these expectations for what's to be got out of the sport no...

I agree with you on just about everything in the above quote. Except one thing , You say when all these things happen we'll look to blame the board. WRONG. I blame the board NOW for not governing the sport correctly NOW . If they governed properly in the first place and actually been able to stand up and say to the Anti's and the Goverment and to Brussels, WE govern our sport correctly and we don't have a need to microchip or balli cert or yearly vet check because we already have systems in place to cover the very subjects you mention. So the board is to blame for not being able to stand up and say WE SELF GOVERN. It is the board who should have all the splinters in the hands because they have been going against the grain for far too long.

I'm all for and willing to give the new CEO a chance . But if his first job isn't to drag someone through the briar for this shambolic display of management then he is no good.

zero confidence in board, the ploughing was on for the last 3 days and no igb stand, there was hundreds of stands from all walks of rural life like horse sport ireland and a lot more about horses but nothing from igb, with the year we are after having and especially with the drug situation and bad press with a lot of dogs, a bit of positive spin would have been badly needed, hopefully Dollard will bring a much needed new voice with much needed new ideas.
