Trying to watch the dogs and listen to the duke and then we have to listen to some garbage from somewhere.

Almost made me turn the Tv off. Sky leave sky one on Australian commentary.

And it would be bloody great if SKY could leave the actual RACE DOGS NAMES up on the TV screen for more than 2 seconds.

Sometimes punters are motivated spontaneously on hearing a dogs race name and seeing the box draw which includes ALL the Race Names on the TV screen, helps confirm & complete what is about to be a knee jerk reaction. Without that service for me, I simply don't bother

You miss the point Adam.

I actually enjoy the pre race commentary. And so do others I figure. The duke is great on these meetings.

I agree Andrew.

It's a shame the Duke is so heavily muzzled at times.

It's almost like that the Sky management don't want the public to see his passion and exuberance for the sport, in case they get infected by it.

Depends what you class as rubbish Andrew... I find rubbish and the Duke one and the same...

With all due respect Brett I would have to disagree ,I've been lucky enough to train a dog recently to have a few interviews with Mark due to my involvement with lightning frank. Some of these have been pre recorded and some live and at all times he makes you feel at ease with his professionalism. And if you see first hand how he handles introducing races while juggling the behind the scene stuff, he is a highly skilled operator that promotes our sport at every opportunity.

That's fine Matthew... No problem with his skills, professionalism and promotion of the sport, I personally am just not a fan of the production he puts to air... Just personal preference in which I simply lower the volume...

This is because they are trying to cram as many races as possible in a small time frame. For the life of me I cannot believe some of the meetings that are covered overseas. Some would be classified as picnic races here in Australia.

I tend to agree Brett, he's not that insightful.

I used to like Dave Carlson, cos he'd talk so long he'd give Sandown enuf time to get the winning nos and correct race time in the frame, and that takes some doing.

This isn't about the duke. I like listening to the pre race preamble myself. Whether it is he or someone else is not the point. The point is we are Listening to international rubbish up to the dogs jumping. No other code does that.

Why the dogs on one of the main nights of racing. Stick the crap on another channel.

Andrew, clearly they only want to look after the every next to go punter... Unfortunately as of yet we don't have our own stand alone channel... Until we do this will continue...

Agree Brett. Just sad and not showcasing our best weekly racing. And the way they call. It is so depressing.

Sick of watching the driver of a cart horse being interviewed while the dogs are being boxed. Want to listen to dogs race caller at the dog race !
