Good point Jamie. I wrote on data about Pathways not having reserves because it was denying another low graded runner a chance to race when there was a scratching. Anyway, it took GRNSW a few months to appreciate my logic in the argument and now they have reserves. GRNSW took the initiative to change the model. So, it was good to read that they were reading.
.
I thought it was a good idea or argument and there are a few good - great ideas on here that's for sure !

The other problem is having 3 tracks, Lithgow, Potts Park and Goulburn in recess due to winter and those meetings aren't replaced to cater for those who would normally race there. If Richmond or Gosford could run a non Tab Saturday meeting to ease the pressure during that time, the dogs could get a chance to be placed and therefore can gain a preference when next nominated.
Just check out Gosford tonight. They're running 5th grade heats over 400m, 6 in total which at first glance seems to indicate that most dogs could get a start. The top 60 dogs cut off at 114 points, 42 dogs under that are sitting at home. One dog at number 86 won there last week over 400m and didn't get a preference. Go figure.

Most people will try to place there dogs , in south Australia from port Augusta to mount gambiour, there is room for ten races at port Augusta , but really get 6 , strathalbyn has poor turnover so why not make it the pathway track ,but they also wouldn't get people to travel there ,my solution is that the board pay the owner$ 50 a week to retire these dogs awaiting gap , surely it's no humane to have retirement villages for old dogs ,
