This product which has been used by many trainers over the years, is no longer in production. Neither is Amino 34X.
Can anyone recommend a similar product as a replacement?

Comment:
With all respect, my only claim here is that I have been in his company - in very small ways at Sandown back in the day.
Comment from someone else:
it has been written that Dr.Jim Gannon, probably the most knowledgable greyhound vet in the world reckons that Aminolite 34X is just as effective given orally as I.V., ...

Comment:
It is true, no confirmation as to why - head of marketing needs to call back.
And apparently there is no plan to replace? As far as I can tell.

Comment:
It is a product that I would use orally and it made a real difference post race or trial, as you know every dog is different.
Obviously there is the consideration to discontinue well before race time.
And in saying that the small dose was not always necessary to extend much more (meaning one dose could be adequate)
if within, my preference - to be administered within the first hour after being on the circuit.

Question: is it possible that as mentioned above about the cobalt. That the build up is an issue with this product?

Comment: Well it is a pity, if there is no replacement.
And I also know that this product was recommended here too, especially for the pricing of it.
I am sure that there has to be answers.

Comment again:
I know these leads in to other discussions,
but for me as a trainer and especially because I am pretty much just on the sidelines for now, and getting myself ready to go again, while my pups are getting ready.
As trainers I know we can't help feel the pinch sometimes when we are forced to go the way vets want us to sometimes.
I could list at least 3 times when vets wanted to put my dogs under, when in the end it was determined there were other ways.
And vets don't always like it when you question what they put forward.
Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful to vets too.
But I suppose what I am leading into here with the topic at hand, is just that I hope it is not a sign of direction to come - in regards to the product being discontinued.

And in another comment to vets: When I ask about word of mouth about new areas for vets, any stories that I could pass on - are not just confined to greyhounds, it's any breed of dog.
But at the end of the day, as consumers we have and should have the freedom to choose where we go, as with anything if we can.

And just another thought that come to my memory, while talking about vets. And there is no point opening another thread because one thing leads to another. I remember being in Barry Heywood's (not sure if I spelt his name properly, sorry if I haven't, I think I have).
Now that is a place you could sit in all day.
Not to mention some of the greats that would come through.
I am pretty sure this dog went to the other vet Alex Hauler, and I do remember reading that the great vet passed away , very sorry to have read that (prob through here I read that). I never did meet the man. That dog I remember quite vividly was Four Amigos. Maybe because the sire of my girl was Adios Amigo and back then the trainer lived around the same area as me.
And of course, the dog was doing really well.
And a lot of you would remember taking your dogs at various or odd trips down to - can't remember the area and the gentleman's name, it has escaped me for now. And he would donate the coins received to the Royal Children's Hospital in exchange for checking over your dogs. The area where you don't turn to Phillip Island, the other way.
Sorry for not putting his name here but I don't think, a great legend like that would worry about that - the great memories are there for everyone.
I am obviously from Victoria.
I am pretty sure he has also been rewarded with a special award from GRV, I could go and look but I am sure my recollections overall here don't have to be perfect.
And I have just lost an hour nearly, and including spilling my lunch all over the floor.
So I must go, but now and again if I have to stop and say my bit, because I think it is worthwhile- so be it I will just have to mow faster.
I am going outside to do some mowing and get some fresh air.
Bye for now greyhound people all over Australia and the world.

Not sure how the numbers come up with the Amino Lite description.
And where I say it is true no confirmation as to why - it is true in regards to the Amino being discontinued.
I rang Troy Labs. as I was curious as to why.
Thought I should just clarify that as sometimes when you write alot, i may get confusing. And I am not game to use the edit button after posting as last time it went a bit haywire!
p.s. you may find it hard to believe that when I did my submission it was pretty short! Proud of myself in summarising in that case.
Hey it doesn't hurt to reflect on the good old days!

p.s. I hope we don't have to go to the vets to get a prescription for amino acids!

I used to use Amino Forte as a post race treatment 20ml on their food after racing so cobalt would be out of the system before the next start.

Anyone used BCAA Paste as an alternate treatment?

Thanks Ryan,
My main memories other than his smile, are all of the cars parked one after the other, and how far you would sometimes have to walk to the entrance because of all of the cars. And sometimes a nice walk on the beach afterwards with a couple of dogs in tow.
