Went to my first meeting in months. As i pay and walk in the gate the stewards and vets called off the meeting due to state of the track.

Nsw is a shambles no wonder I am getting out

And worst still they new at 4pm the track was a potential issue yet they made everyone drive to the track and kennel then call off before the first race

Welfare welfare welfare !

Apparently, there is a new track manager at GBOTA Gosford, but he starts on 7 September. Ask the Chairman or CEO what's going on ?
.
I couldn't find the Stewards' Report ?

Complete Rehaul required at management level- You should put your hand up Anthony , you can't move forward with the rookies running your state which are embarrassing to watch

If I were a GBOTA member, I'd be asking Gosford or HO why their tracks are not up to standard on race day. Why are they getting it so wrong ?

If it's the stewards' fault why aren't all track meetings every week being abandoned? Curators have to provide the answers.

P.S. GBOTA Wenty Park is looking for a track n maintenance worker. See GBOTA website for further details.

Two weeks ago they nearly lost a meeting at Nowra for the same reasons, fortunately last minute track maintenance "got the track up".
The issues in NSW have occurred since they appointed a central Track Manager and the sand they are now using under his control. I would suggest the tracks that race consistently are where the track curator applies their own skills/knowledge over that proferred by the Central Control expert.

Nicholas,
1 in 102 isn't bad unless you have more ! The GRNSW Track Manager has been there approximately two years or 102 weeks. You're track manager is doing well. It's better than racing on a rock hard track that's for sure and I suppose you can't race your dog in knee deep of water either.

Do you know when he started ? The site specifies his starting date is tomorrow, 7 September. Do you know any different?

Does it help the owners and trainers on Tuesday by knowing ?

This isn't the first time? how many since the new year?
WHY? Was the track inspected at 4pm? When do the Stewards arrive?
Surely the Track is inspected 1st? Power, Boxes, Kennels. I read where the track was deemed unsafe by GRNSW Track Maintenance staff?
Were they NEAR/BY? Safety concerns for the Greyhounds? Why not a Delegation of Trainers to assess if they deem the track unsafe? Say 5! Why not allow the Trainer to scratch? if they think the track to be unsafe? Will wages by staff, and GRNSW be deducted?
Early this year some meetings at Wentworth Park were run on a HIGHLY SUSPECT TRACK (Ice skating rink). Seems what's good for the Fat goose, is poison to the Gander

Terry you are asking the right questions - two more

How many race meetings has Victoria lost over the past 2 years due to poorly prepared tracks or bad weather?

How meetings did NSW loose in the 2 years prior to the "experts" taking control, due to poorly prepared tracks and bad weather?

NSW is deluded - their sole and only view of the world is to ensure your "Pets" (greyhounds) do not incur any form of injury under the pretext of Animal Welfare - they have lost the plot - it is all about racing and revenue - KISS - remember the product is Greyhound Racing.

Next thing we will see a new rule banning anyone from free galloping on a beach!!

Well thats what happens when you have a Panel of Anti's being advised by a Panel of Experts who are also Anti's. Under this ridiculous regime expect more of the same.
