Would anyone have any information on how the DDO pups/racedogs are going at the moment ? Are they reported to have any good or bad traits that seem to be a constant in the breed ?

There is mixed reports. some are saying awesome chase, some are saying no chase. Some are saying horrible barkers, some are saying non barkers.
On what I have seen they chase good. but I have heard that they are slow learners and can switch off from awesome chasers to non chasers very quickly.
On what I have seen they are non barkers, but very headstrong and brazen. but I have also heard spooky and bark constantly.
But like all new sires everyone bags them out constantly until proven wrong. i'd have no problem using him.

Call off the execution. Apart from Double Gee, a litter from a Premier Fantasy bitch is burning the tracks up in Adelaide. Times that FFA dogs cannot match.

Dean, I'm more than happy to send you pics of my DDO pups. They just turned 4 months. Mine don't bark, very well mannered and I couldn't be happier with my lot.

Got 2 that are nearly 5 months old now and no complaints at all.
Really nice tall pups, non barkers and are mad for the toys/squeaker. Took them a few goes but now they love it.
Mum was a non barker though so that will definitely have an impact.
Would defs use him again.
Currently throwing 18% winners this year also. Fernando 21%, Fabregas 16%, Barcia 15%.

People still happy with this bloke?
My pups as mentioned just about have just gone to breakin.
We kept 2, a dog and bitch. Our bitch is very immature and breakin is currently just a game for her, not chasing 100% at all. the boy however i've been told after 1 week is a smart dog, so might have some fun with him.
From what i have seen and am hearing about DDO pups being broken in, is he is throwing a lot of non chase currently, however he is still throwing very good litters over all. Throwing some bad traits, barking being the main one, but the chase is a big problem for me as this day and age there is less incentive and less ways to instill it in them.
I don't think i will be using him again at $3300 fee personally

I'd like to change my opinion of him. Wouldn't go near him if he was free. At this point in time I can confidently say mepunga blazer, Aston dee bee, ritza Lenny etc. are all better options at stud if you want a son of barcia bale

All sires throw bad traits, the good sires throw less Dogs with bad traits !!!!!! Magic Sprite had his knockers before his progeny won thousands of races and still has his knockers now lol. Its always been a lot easier for a Breeder to POT A SIRE before potting his beloved Broody !!!

I agree with you Mark, he is doing the job in fine fashion, but he is a sire you need the bitch with compatible bloodlines for him, to get the best out of the mating
I don't mind him as he throws a decent amount of strength into his progeny, but needs to be used selectively

It is very easy to pot.. however when i know what my bitch is like, and she has now had 2 litters, so you can compare the different sires.. its easy to see which bad traits they get from the father.
The mum was a ferocious chaser, u should see her ripping toys apart even at 8 weeks pregnant.. not a non chase bone in her body. Combine with DDO and 1 or 2 of the pups a bit iffy. That is to me a sire issue, not the mother issue (rearing can be a factor also, but have heard of plenty of DDO's at breakin now not going a inch).
2nd litter is to SH avatar, much more keen on the toys at an early stage, and much better behaved. So time will tell also on them.
But he is throwing good winners and adding strength, but am seeing too many of his not chase or throw dogs wanting to play, hence why i wouldn't use him again

Who did you put to DDO to get these demons?

when you are sitting at number 4 in the metropolitan sires list , surely you must be throwing some great Stock ,
win rate at 16% is excellent when you look at that list there is a lot well behind him ,
once you wait till proven , then you can match your bitch to him with some sort of confidence,
he is certainly one im looking at for Zara later on
not all pups in all litters are equal , no matter who the mum and dad are

I agree with what you wrote Matt. When they're good, they're exceptional. When they're bad, you wont even get them past break in stage.
As for switching off after starting good, a lot of that has to do with the Dam sire. That will give you a good clue as to what's working and what is not. Would I ever take on a DDO pup again, umm No I would not.

Your bitch is well bred sam coming through the princess bale dam line. Good luck with all your pups as you obviously invested to breed. I assume it is farce Allen.
I am interested in what people thinks works for him.
Jarrad and I are tossing up barcia or a son for showgirl queen or her sister.
Ddo high on the agenda if we go the son route. Based on what people thinks works is this a mating people think is good for ddo.
She is a very good chaser. Is a bit excitable but that comes from wanting to get out and go.

If your bitch is already excitable, you will be doubling this trait with DDO
They would be the most high voltage pups around
If it were me I wouldnt be going there ......... I would be using something that delivers qiuet to medium traits
All reports are this guys are the easiest to work with , I havent heard one complaint in this department

That is her mate. Well bred and quick early. Great chase and very placid temprament, she was an ideal candidate to DDO as dyna chancer is basically bred on these same lines.
As i said, my bitch not 100% chasing at this stage, and might not be a race prospect. unsure yet. but the boy could be smart, but even then i don't think i would be using him again.
Same going to be with every sire, always hit and miss, just seems to throw a few extra iffy pups than most from what i have heard, but can throw his fair share of city dogs also
