KUKUDIO (9) was best to begin. PERFECT PROJECT (2) was slowly away. BUGATTI EXTREME (1) and KUKUDIO (9) came together in the back straight causing KUKUDIO (9) to lose ground and hamper PERFECT PROJECT (2) and KANZAN (6). TAKAHI LEGEND (5), VISION OF LOVE (7) and KANZAN (6) collided heavily entering the turn out of the back straight causing VISION OF LOVE (7) to lose ground and drop to the tail of the field. BUGATTI EXTREME (1), OPO MAGIC (4) and PURE PROJECT (8) came together rounding the home turn causing OPO MAGIC (4) to lose ground. BUGATTI EXTREME (1) ran wide turning for home hampering PURE PROJECT (8). BUGATTI EXTREME (1) lost concentration and ran wide towards PURE PROJECT (8) approaching the winning post.
BUGATTI EXTREME (1) was issued with an endorsement for Unsatisfactory Performance GAR 71 and is prohibited to nominate prior to a Satisfactory Trial as per GAR 72.

A couple of observations.

The stewards said...

BUGATTI EXTREME (1) ran wide turning for home hampering PURE PROJECT (8).

My version of that...

BUGATTI EXTREME (1) ran wide turning for home, following the path of the hoop lure, PURE PROJECT (8) happened to be in the way, and copped a bump.

*************

BUGATTI EXTREME (1) lost concentration and ran wide towards PURE PROJECT (8) approaching the winning post.

"Lost concentration", is now the new terminology for, "failing to chase".

The lure was a mile away n the finish line lights were operating so it couldve been a few things as well as the camera man being there as well.

Having read the previous post, if I were the steward I would have given the dog the benefit of the doubt, due to the above reasons. The stewards are quick to react without considering some of the other factors.

It seems he doesn't like winning posts or looses concentration when other dogs are around. One of the other LOL.
This happened last month.

when the green light goes on at the boxes what is the average time for the lure to get to the boxes? seemed to get there quick in that race in my opinion.

What the stewards reported....

Bugatti Extreme, Zipping Mulga and High Tenacity collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Zipping Mulga and High Tenacity. Bekim Instinct and Shall She Cindy collided on the first turn checking Bekim Instinct, Shall She Cindy, Maximum Gift and Zipping Mulga. Bugatti Extreme and High Tenacity collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn. Bliss Street contacted the running rail on the home turn and became unbalanced. Bugatti Extreme marred Bliss Street in the home straight.

Bliss Street was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle and left triangle injuries, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Bugatti Extreme was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mrs D. Dean, the trainer of the greyhound Bugatti Extreme regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Bugatti Extreme with marring. Mrs Dean pleaded guilty to the charge, Bugatti Extreme was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

I was hoping when I wrote my comments that the dog didnt have form for it. The one in VIC was different in that he did finish off the race with a kiss for the dog on the inside n in front of him. Whereas, at Bulli he strayed and slowed to the right whilst in front of other dogs. Id still give him the benefit, but I think next time hed be issued with a ticket.

Its a pity because he goes well. Ten metres more at Bulli and there is no issue, for that particular race anyway. However, I did read somewhere that a warning was given to a trainer/handler for not retrieving and controlling his/her dog from the catching pen quick enough, after dog showed excessive face to face arguing tactics with another dog.

Also, the dog/owner can get a ticket for dog being too slow ! Dog tries on unsuitable track n distance n gets a ticket. No marring, tried hard. Sometimes, I think stewards just dont understand. Peppy Le Pew would never have caught that cat if he wasnt allowed to run after her, lol

Looks to me he tracked wide following the lure.
Didnt really see much wrong with the performance.
