Like you Mark, I was a member, however many years ago. They look after their members and the rest of the industry plays second fiddle. Times are a changing.

Dribble,
BS. You comment on matters that you dont know about regularly e.g. breeding and training. Some of the other subjects you write about are stories... that take people on a journey far across the sea.......... only to be disappointed most of the time.

Malcolm,
No updates. Not proactive. If everyone asked him hed be inundated so why ones of his staff just tell the masses. Not hard to do !

Ill ask you, what do you know about the Alliance?

Do any of you guy's know what salary he is on and are they still flying him in and out of SA because we can't find a CEO in NSW.
SCOTT SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND TAKE A LEAF OUT OF BARNABY'S
BOOK AND GET A ONE WAY TICKET.

Mark the GBOTA are killing the industry in NSW they are not capable of looking after anything, they must go before it's to late.

We need a GBOTA because despite many excited & well meaning people trying to form other participant bodies all have failed.
Unfortunately the present Board (other than for 2 very industrious members) & CEO have been around too long & although they have been responsible for many past deeds new blood is desperately needed.
However I never see many willing to have a go.
Any noms out there?

Grant you lived around the corner from the GBOTA for years, didn't see you volunteering ????
This industry needs the GBOTA like it needed the NCA "WAKE UP".

Malcolm,

Yes, I had several conversations/submissions with the Alliance and previously with Gordon on statewide matters. I was not impressed with either dialogues. Nor with the ACT subject. Part of the problem was that we did not really know what tack they were taking on what subjects.

However, my final concern is the - post Reform Panel - the industry ended up with a set of rules which many people (in both NSW and Vic) class as excessive and unnecessary. In that context, I can only repeat what I said earlier .....
"Personally, I can't say much because the regulatory areas under discussion are outside my field and I don't comment on what I don't know about. But someone should".

In passing, I should add that the Canberra club made several detailed statements about how it was attacking its problems and who it was talking to, and why. This contrasts with the Alliance approach.

It looks like Gunneadahs Track has been deemed temporarily unsafe. This coincides with a pending announcement that $30 million might be found (where ?) to repair tracks and other infrastructure across the State. Who will have their handout first ?

We forget about other tracks that hardly ask for anything yet, rarely are rewarded. If Lismore gets washed out again (I hope it doesnt) the bill should be paid from the GBOTA coffers and not GRNSW. Same with The Gardens, Gosford and WP. They have to accept the bad times and the good times, and save for a rainy day.

Your right Mark - I didn't volunteer.It was because I had a very demanding national job,a wife & 4 kids.
I wasn't suggesting anyone in particular should have a go-just commenting on the fact that the Directors have had very few challenges for their positions.
Who would represent us if the GBOTA were not there & if they weren't there would we be here now?

Thats just it Grant, the GBOTA is all for the GBOTA not the industry or its participants.
A more appropriate name for the GBOTA would be "THE INNER CIRCLE."

You dodged my 2 questions Mark but think of it-for just $20 you too could
be a Member of the "INNER CIRCLE" become a Director, tell everyone there to "WAKE UP" & give us some real participant representation.

Grant you are well behind the times mate.
The GBOTA has been a disaster for the last 20 years, some very smart people have been on that board and in a matter months just give it away because of the cartel and the dinosaurs.Like i said before SCOTT NEEDS A ONE WAY TICKET TO SA.
He's got no intention of leaving the only TICKET he's on is a good one!.

It would appear the branchs are self centred, and are apathetic about replacing the higher echelon. stakeholders themselves are to blame, join your local branch and agitate for the sacking of the Brenton Scott and the drones.

Funny how South Australia has gone ahead, since they got
rid of Grant! I know a few of their trainers, and no way
do they want him back!

You still dodged my 2 questions Mark.
Do you have some personal issue with me Mark?
Not that it's any of your business but I joined the
Geebots in the mid eighties & am still a member.

Mark" I think that statement of 30 Million, was by Tony Mestrov talking to Mark Duclos on "Collars & Leads". This was relevant to the 41 Million from NSW State Govt to transion. 11 Million to Integirty & Welfare the other 30 Million Commercial, Infrastructure etc. How much has already been spent & wasted?

Grant why on earth would i want to be a member of an organisation that lost the plot almost two decades ago ? Anyone IMO who thinks the GBOTA represents NSW industry participants is delusional.
