Barry Drake

Yesterday (Friday), The Opinion Line with PJ Coogan on 96FM featured a debate on welfare, regulation with the IGB.

Friends of Cork Greyhounds and greyhound owners in Cork against the anti-racing groups. The debate starts at 9mins 30 seconds. Text poll was won by over 90% by the pro racing side.

Thanks to everyone who texted in, in particular, we thank David McManus for representing the IGB (Irish Greyhound Board) who did his usual wonderful job while Bridget Murphy (Friends of Cork Greyhounds) spoke brilliantly about the greyhound people and the love the greyhound folk give their greyhounds.

Also a big thanks to Lynda who rang in from Nothern Ireland who spoke so passionately about greyhound racing and gave a great insight into how well-maintained greyhound tracks are and the love people have for greyhounds.

Finally, well done to Liam who took time to ring in about his retired 13-year old greyhound who is really enjoying her retirement.
