Good article Simon, pleasing to see a State other than Vic making meaningful headway, with positive initiatives with Animal Welfare. Re: The Injury Cost supplements. There are Intellectual Animal Loving would be CEO's, Chairperson's, Commissioners etc out there.
Can only hope and pray that GRNSW has enough vision to find JUST ONE!

I race some dogs in SA

I would say they are probably the most progressive state at the moment in all aspects of the sport i.e. management, welfare, rehoming, grading, public communication etc

I wish the prizemoney would increase though LOL

Au Contraire Terry Mon ami, I think we all like to get some prizemoney

I mainly like their Board's attitude to the sport, its professional and progressive

.

The last line is the key...progressive and professional.
SA has quietly led the way on many issues that have then been copied by other states.

Tried to get a dog from Tassie to train in SA. This dog has won 8 races. He would race in SA as a grade 3 but if he was SA owned he would be grade 5.
There's another dog which is SA bred. He's won 8 races and is still a grade 6 on Thursday.
I understand the need to promote and protect ones own, but with extended nominations now an everyday occurrence, perhaps some of these areas need to be relaxed.
