Just watched a recorded episode of the Catching Pen. Kel Watts has put it out there for everyone to support the cup by having a punt. From memory the date is the 28th April - this year. Get on board - fast and furious, so next years Cup can be discussed. Someone please confirm the heats and dates, and this is such a simple request for everyone to show their support. I think we can do better and really put it out there - word of mouth and posters. It was a very positive episode to watch. He also mentioned that they are offering free kennelling if anyone is interested. Time goes quick - so make a point of not letting time get the better of you, put a big reminder on the fridge. And get others to do the same, it is such an easy request - make the most of it and be there via a bet - if you can't be there personally.
I'm going to pick number 3 for the win, without knowing the field. I'm going to put a box trifecta on 3,1,8. Not sure how much for for the win. The trifecta I am going to actually spend $ 12.00, opposed to my usual $ 3.00,. And that's all I have thought of so far.
Treat it like the horsey melb cup - and if you don't normally bet, just make an effort on the day or beforehand if you have to.

Yes, in this instance, in this call for your support - from someone that I saw and heard felt like he is on track - Kel Watts ( I hope I heard and spelt his name correctly from memory) ~~~~~ Actions not words will make a difference ! Start planning where you are going to bet now and get others to do the same. e.g. phone account, walk directly in, whatever don't leave it where you have run out of time. Maybe someone could put a poster up in any outlets that supply to the greyhound industries. Ask the managers of all of the tracks in Aus. if a simple poster could be put up to support the Canberra Cup - don't forget have a bet (with the dates of heats and the actual Cup). Word of mouth - ask others if they are going to have a punt on the Canny Cup - and tell them the date.
Don't sit on your hands. Get up and act. It is so simple the call out. It is a chance to show your support. Don't let it go by without a show. Times to short. And I am sure if you were sitting in Canberra you would really respect the show of support from everyone everywhere. Time will tell and the stats will show with that prize pool (think it's the right terminology, whatever betting pool). Cheers !
Just thought I will have to wait to see the odds on me random pick of number 3. No point whacking money on something for a win just to increase each dollar by 10 cents or something. I better find me TAB acc info. and put something in there ready for the day. I'll probably just increase the trifecta unit amount and go for the box quinella as well, if the odds are too short. I better start getting organised now because I know time gets the better of me and also I just made it into the TAB for Horsey Melb Cup day, I don't want to be in that position for the "Greyhound Canberra Cup" , where I am running around at the last minute.
