In his interview for the Herald he made this following comment:
They will see major change over the next two or three years that will give them hope for the future.
This was straight after saying that the participants in the room at the meeting from their tour were not very excited about the future due to many hurdles and restrictions.
I dont know how he was able to make the comment and keep a straight face. Hes a brilliant actor, lol.

Look at Queensland racing and how screwed they are.......see link below, starts at 12.25. guy on racing radio melb this morning said, when things go pear shaped they play the blame game and when things are good they are quick to grab the glory.
GRNSW are heading down the same path and don't believe GRV are not a long way down that path as well!

The guy must wake up every morning and head to work knowing hes getting paid to encourage more participants to leave the sport. Cause I dont see any other outcome tbh.
Probably why they are on member paid tour of nsw giving really no info just preaching (things wil change soon when the commission takes over u ask a question and they cant answer real good tour )

Keep your ears to the ground. I have heard something big has happened in the last couple of days within GRNSW if true could be a real ball breaker. Let us see if their transparency is true and this news is released.
If u heard there was multiple sackings I believe u may be right. The GWIC tour must be for the pros only as the hard workers can't get to the meetings mmm may be their motive

This comment from another thread seems applicable here: The law is just an extension of human nature Carly as you have just painfully been subjected to.The people who administer the law have their tenore decided by the Government & as they are human & want to keep their jobs they rarely find against the Government in favour of a non Government person/firm etc. The answer to your original question is "GRNSW Chairman,Directors & Staff are appointed by the State Government, are a Government body & therefore work for the State Government. That's why we need a State Govt that recognises our worth to this State (why the hell they don't when we are now bringing in 27% compared to 21% Tab turnover in 2015 who knows) We need a Participant Body or Union to represent us & stop them from catering to the 5% of greens & activists they are presently creating rules for. GBOTA just want to stay in favour with them & do not properly represent us on any level.

They already know what participants concerns are but they dont care. The tours they are doing are fake imo. They are just try to convince participants that they are listening and fully understand. They are going to enforce massive change regardless anyway. They have an agenda, its as simple as that.

Grant 100% spot on.
Like you said Participant body or Union should be number 1 priority and if possible Australia wide at the moment they have us by the bulbs because they know it's divide and conker I don't think that this government has any idea how big the dogs are in NSW and how many people work in the industry and how many people outside of it rely on it for there living. If they don't get there act together they could be sitting on another ORANGE!

if they continue to bring in what they are talking about then the industry will go down fast imo. or should i say faster.
its completely unnecessary and will make participants walk away for good. which is their goal by the looks of it.
All this rubbish about pups being trained as pets from an early age is ridiculous. They are dogs, not monsters.
Of all the greyhounds i've taken as pets, they never had one minute of being conditioned to become pets. But after 5 minutes sniffing around the yard and then being brought inside the house, they were on the lounge and watching Seinfeld repeats and settled in as if they'd been there for years. That's all it took. Simple!

And that's in a nutshell Simon. Bingo.
From the time Greyhounds start walking (& talking), they are total RATBAGS & FERAL. The do-gooders don't understand this. They think Greyhounds are simply angels from day dot. WRONG.
ALL Greyhounds, want to do is run, bark, chase, dig holes, a similar attitude to a kid with ADHD. They are "Full-On".
Once a Greyhound has had (s)he's time in the sun & has run around racetracks until the age of 4 (at least), THAT'S when they turn into exactly what you have described.

Steven,
My amateur experience is that you are spot on in respect to all breeds, not just greyhounds.
However, my impression of WDA (and other) views was that early socialisation - however defined - would help their racing careers, not just their GAP eligibility. EG nervousness etc. My further impression is that some trainers/educators do a better job of this than others, just as some doctors are better than others, or some footballers have nicer habits than others (eg for Manly followers, compare John (father) with Will (son) Hopoate - sorry you southerners, you had to be there).
The problem is that GAP, while doing well in most ways, has now become an industry in itself. Therefore it starts creating its own rules and practices which cannot be criticised lest you downgrade the whole project. Catch 22. So bring it up, Talk about it.
I leave you with the point that this sort of thing is why the industry needs to deal with your "do-gooders" and the general public by better informing them about the wonders of the greyhound breed.
On the one hand, they are just dogs. On the other hand, they are a special kind of dog. But who knows that?

Just one point, when comparing father and son, father was a legend in Manly colours, it's when he went to West Tigers the "incident" happened..

it's just Victimisation.
i don't see any other industry having to jump through so many ridiculous hoops.
and Brenton Scott and friends welcomed the conditions and the rspca etc. with open arms at a time when the government was on the verge of collapse.
should have put the boot in, not let them walk all over us again.
