Anyone with either a view or technique of rewarding pups and young dogs after chasing drag lure or slip? Presently educating some pups and thinking of more ways to reward the chase.

You could try a soft toy or tennis ball.

Hi rob

Try getting a hession bag and put a few bread rolls in it ! Let em get a scent on it
And watch the worst in the litter who wouldn't bite on suddenly do it !
It creates jealousy amongst litter that each thinks it's theirs
It's legal as it's not animal product !
You can attach it to your local track arm lure aswell and straight walk tease them into catching pen !
Only do this once a week as it's a fine line between keeping their head level or over the edge and too fired up
It's everyone's own opinion but I think a wired dog is useless in the end as their box manners will suffer first
Ideally on top of this when they become 7-8 mths old , you should take them to a breaker that is gentle and has time to ease your pups into chasing around his bullring with you there watching !
If they don't agree with this , find a new breaker ! They are out there
Do this once a fortnight until bite on then once a month
Your dogs will be broken in before they are 12 months old and you have done it over 5 mths , not jammed into 28 days and told half your litter is no good !
That's the old way and as a whole or in terms of getting most out of your litter , it's useless and unfair on the dogs ! Not every litter sister or dog excels at the same time as his litter mate ! So ask yourself why put a test or run a line through them doing this method ! It's something I have never understood in this industry!

Cheers and good luck bud

The way I do it is when they are young make it a game their reward will be the fun and excitement of playing with u I dont things as a group then couple weeks later one on one then group again keeps the on there toes, I have a freind that gives them puppy treats for chasing but I am not a fan of that. I have a litter going to breakers in just over a month that bite on to anything I put in front of them, I agree with others not over doing it is key I did a lot with this litter from 8 weeks old I had one of those toy monkeys with 6 arms they all got a arm to bite and wrestle with me then progressed throw other toys to a squeaker. Healthy interaction will make things a lot easier in the long run. Good luck with your lot
