Ray, the longer it stays out.the less chance of it coming back.

I hope for all our sake this is not the case.

distinct lack of transparency I wonder if this is another UTS design with construction by the same crew that were involved in the Gardens disaster further no quicker way to send an industry to the wall continue to employ people with no idea of what they are doing then blame the participants

Why is open, transparent, truthful and informative communication, so difficult?

Ray,

I am not aware that UTS has designed anything. It has provided some advice when asked on particular aspects of a track (eg at Horsham), and has published an interim report - some of which was taken out of context by GRNSW and the media.

Gardens was designed and built by an engineering firm which had no greyhound experience (ditto for Gosford). In both cases they made fundamental design mistakes (eg 400m box placement).

I can't comment on drainage at Gardens - that's an engineering matter.

I suspect the Gardens design was poor because they appeared to first position the boxes and then dump a circuit on top of it. More sensible would have been to reverse that order. Apart from start problems for 600m and 400m races that resulted in poor levels on the home turn - where the camber is too flat.

NCA and GBOTA played a dominant role in the respective design approvals while GRNSW did little. None of the three had any expertise in track design. Still don't.

Nothing very unusual there - that's how all Australian tracks have been designed. She'll be right!

Is it any wonder the sports finds itself in the position it's in at this time. A SHIP WITHOUT A RUDDER usually runs on rocks and we are certainly on the ROCKS,

There is no work being carried out at Gosford at present so the latest communication from GRNSW would appear to be a lie.
I wrote to the GBOTA ( as a member ) asking the present position. Will let you know if I receive a reply , are ignored or fobbed off with b....hit.
Heard there is a blowout in cost from 600k to 750k ( cheap aye ) & no one at GRNSW will sign off on it.

GBOTA always has its hand-out. Is GRNSW rewarding clubs who do have low maintenance costs?

Thanks Mark, pictures speak louder than words, someone has to
take responsibility for the previous false information.

Mark,

Well done. Note that the hoardings and the bike track still exist around the infield as they did before - allegedly to prevent metal and whatever being thrown onto the dog track. An oil and water problem.

Bruce I thought you have travelled around the 40 eastern tracks so called ?? You would surely have known the Go Cart Track is a tenant of the Citrus Growers that control the showground 'Bob Glover

Bob,

Could well be. I live 20 min walk away but rarely ever go near the place now. My problem is not the metal but the disruptive first turn which made punting difficult. The grass was easier to handle (not that I favour grass as such). Anyway I don't punt these days but I still know how the track works. IF they are going to change the layout then I might change my mind.
