I need to say something here based off inbred comments on Facebook regarding the investigation of the Horse industry.
Any greyhound person that thinks this is great shows a very low intellect because high class trainers all the way down to the old battler with two horses spoke about how stupid the ban was but yet greyhound people are making comments that they hope they suffer un f n real.
All greyhound people have had to run around telling people that not all greyhound people are tared with the same brush and their is only a bad few but then we have Dog people wanting to see ALL the horse people burn, these people make me sick and are the low that keeps our industry down.
Could anyone post links of social media were the horse industry participants told the greyhound industry to rot and suffer?
Its a group trying to ban dogs and horses not one against the other but some people are to simple to work that out.

Are you serious??? Short Memory?? Didn't tell us to rot & suffer but said fk all.

Greyhound racing lobbyists are furious with footage which shows Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys telling breeders about what he thought was a bleak outlook for the canine code.

Speaking to Fairfax Media on Sunday, V'landys said he was unaware at the time he was being filmed during the "private meeting"
I was unaware it was being taped. SO He got caught out & this was the Thoroughbred Breeders of OZ.They all new, did they come out & stand up for us. The simple inbred answer is NO!! How about you find us on social Media where the the Horse industry Participants came out in supported the Greyhounds in NSW Good luck with that.

So true Mick

V'landys and his horsey mates knew of the SHIT that was gunna hit the fan before the greyhound industry did,let them fight their own battle and i HOPE THEY have more restrictions and rules thrown at them then can ever be thrown at the dog industry has had,

Lets see where all their wastage has ended up,i wonder if they are all running around in peoples backyards or laying on the old sofa

And its the horse industrys fault people were caught live baiting?
Blaming other people for the lack of leadership in the greys isnt the answer.
I put out the challenge, show us were average horse industry people have slagged the greyhound industry?
There are pages of greyhound industry participants slagging horse people thats the sad truth of the matter.
Both industrys need to survive but simple minded attacks Isnt the answer.

QUOTE FROM SBS NEWS,,

Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys says greyhound authorities should have been aware of live baiting and stopped it.

UpdatedUpdated 18 February 2015 SBS News

The head of NSW horseracing says his counterparts in the greyhound industry should be ashamed of themselves in light of the live baiting scandal.

Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys says the greyhound governing body, GRNSW, has no excuse for letting trainers get away with the practices that have rocked the sport.

"Their excuses are pitiful," V'landys said.

"There is no excuse for not having the surveillance in place. They could have stopped it.

"To allow this sort of cruelty to occur - there are absolutely no excuses. They just didn't have the will.

"They should be ashamed of themselves."

Johnathon are you on the same planet the reason people are slagging as you call it is because the Horse industry NEW i repeat NEW in advance that we were going to be banned & did nothing to help the situation because they were looking after there own back yard, why didn't the one & two horse owners come out & Bag there own leaders for letting the Greyhounds go it alone its not rocket science ya know.

Some harness people were told not to support us as well as the Giddy Ups. Therefore, I have no sympathy for them and it wont even raise an eyebrow.

Thats why were in it on our own for everything e.g. ICA, Tax Parity n now PoCT.

The SFF Party are the way to go ! Theres room in their bed !

Very strange coming onto a greyhound website and post this.........

Can you imagine if a greyhound person went onto a horsey website and did the same.

Richard,

Much as I dislike V'Landy's approach to many things, he is perfectly correct on this one. The truth was outed in various exchanges between the McHugh Commission and Percy Allan and Hogan where there was clear knowledge of abuses occurring. Equally, evidence before the Qld inquiry said much the same thing, quoting a QGRA board member. In any event, it beggars belief that the top trainers in Vic and Qld were both in the midst of it yet allegedly "nobody knew".

To which you can add several multiple killings which hit the major newspapers.

I see no point in being rude to horse people, as such, but there is a strong case to show that greyhounds are being dumped on for the same problems that occur every day for thoroughbreds - eg wastage - so there is discrimination.

I have been criticised on these pages for continuing to mention live baiting - indicating that participants want to sweep it under the carpet. Equally, participants have knocked WDA for pointing out the facts of life - facts which they do not want to know about.

The reality is that live baiting stories will never go away, nor will memories of live hare coursing at Rooty Hill. They may fade a bit but they will still be there. If we forget, the Greens will soon remind us.

The solution is to overcome that history by displaying the best there is to offer about greyhounds.

Meantime, ask V'Landy's why his posh dining area and in-house pokie palace failed so badly at Harold Park. That's the history that got him his current gig.

Like I said narrow minded.
The thoroughbreds will thrive, always will and when you have average people in the greyhound people trying to bad mouth them for the fault of the ban then our industry will always be the poor cousin.

Johno and Bruce... I don't think it is as much as the greyhound community "dumping" on the thoroughbreds, it is more to the point that when we had our "issues" that branch of the industry, instead of standing up for US, they actually jumped on the band wagon to condemn us.... (as per V'landys comments posted earlier) His comments posted could well be quoted by our industry to theirs, but I doubt our PTB will stoop that low... I support all codes... But you can't blame people for getting a ticket for a back seat on the "Karma Train"

Rich.

Human behavior, it makes one feel better to know someone else is suffering.

V'landy may deserve a kick in the goolies but including everyone in the horse code as being like him is childish stuff.

I would have thought that having seen the injustice and foolishness of this behaviour first hand we would all have more empathy.

I agree with Johnno
