It was a terrific night.

The spectacle that the Ladbrokes boys, Disco Dave & the Duke , back up front together along with the band, the pageantry and most of all a bumper crowd despite the inclement weather made it an event that I can truly remember

I can say that it definitely reminded me of the days when we had people from all walks of life attending the greyhounds in big numbers on a regular basis.

There were whole families with their children, there were a lot of young hip people, there were food stalls, there were the GAP there promoting greyhounds as pets, they were a huge hit with young kids who couldn't help themselves patting the dogs they had there

There was great, clean racing on a track that has been redesigned to give most dogs a real chance of winning if they are good enough

Most of all there was a win to a young man & his family who have committed their lives to the sport and have kicked the ultimate goal.

The sheer emotion and joy Peter presented after the race as he jumped and leapt down the straight was a sight to behold and one that has been imprinted on my memory

Congrats Pete and Jodie, it is a deserved victory and congrats to the owners/breeders of Mystic Riot, you guys nailed it!!!

Great stuff, Sandro.
I'm very envious, would have been a buzz to be there.
I would also love to see some footage of Peter's victory dance down the straight...well done Peter and family.
He who dares to dream...

Hopefully NSW and the rest of the country can use this to push on with improvements and growth for the sport.

More importantly, did anyone save me some popcorn?

Agreed Sandro. Last night wasnt about regional racing, it was about raising the profile of greyhound racing. And like you said, every single person I spoke to last night from all walks of life said how great a night it was and they will definitely be back.

The atmosphere for the million dollar race was electric, a huge success for greyhound racing. And a huge congratulations to Peter and Jodie!

Very gracious Adam after looking a massive chance down the back yourself, must have been a huge thrill.

That's a great attitude to have and people like you are exactly what greyhound racing needs to reassure it's future.

Have enjoyed reading your thoughts on data prior to the race as well. Good luck with the sport in the future.

If you've got time, wld like to know the background of the 2 you guys had in the race, how they were acquired, thoughts behind their breeding etc.

Merrick & Rosso two DJs got more about fifteen years ago lol. It only goes to show that if you build it, they will come. GBOTA and GRNSW have been poor in this area. Of course everyone was happy there. It was a captive audience. Next ?

Guys ,behave. 3000/3500 whatever is still a very good crowd, what with afternoon Cups etc, opera house event, expected weather and no parking, great work ; for those that put it together : Congrats to the trio of NSW performers, we all like to win so ,take a bow , and for them to be younger that most in the game says there is a future ahead ?? Just hope that another Strategic Plan can shine some light now to keep more in our sport ?? Well done to those who gave time to set the place up, for the young families to enjoy, have had nothing but excellent thoughts from some young ones that went along , We just need to keep at the pollies now after the drubbing , the coalition got yesterday : Bob Glover

I WAS there and I thought it was great, I estimated a crowd of at lease 6500 to 7000 and the atmosphere was electrifying
