I have been to Cox Plates at Mooney Valley and thought last night was right up there with them for atmosphere. There was a real buzz in the air all night. Congrats to Peter and connections.

And that's what's been missing for so long, Mick...atmosphere. Gets the blood pumping, doesn't it. From a threat from a moron to close the industry to this is extraordinary. Hopefully the majority can take the positives from it and move ahead.

FOX channel 526...No introduction of dogs...race...no post race interview...Richest dog race in history...shit poor coverage for the home punter, enthusiast...
Grant I think you'll find it being a Ladbrokes sponsored event they shut the TAB run and owned Sky Channel out which was a pity for the 80,000 odd home viewers. It sounded like Jason Lincoln was hiding up at the back of the stand using his mobile phone to broadcast to Sky viewers info on the nights action. Watch the difference when the TAB Melbourne Cup is on and Sky will saturate the coverage we couldn't get the final field in the Melbourne Sun but a full page for Meadows and Cranbourne. Had no press in Melb which is poor but the form guide is sponsored by GRV and the TAB. The old Holden versus Ford syndrome. - Macwollie

Of course Grant is there any other? oh hang on there is one and put it this way Grant I bet there will be more press coverage in Vic on the Melbourne Cup on Wheels at the in Darebin Indoor velodrome DEC 8 than what we got dished out for the 1 mill $ chase which was disappointing. Interesting to see what sort of vision the Pen has tonight on the event. - Macwollie
