A fantastic training feat occurred last night at angle park when trainer Ashleigh Terry was able to claim the oaks and derby final with her litter mates American girl and nervous and weird congratulations to all the connections the local dogs put up a great contest filling the placings well done to all.
Its just great to see a young person (along with Andrew P) who is passionate about the sport get results like that

thats a great achievement, if it was done by some of the big guys it would be plastered every where , but nice to see the little guy can still win ,, and get some recognition EXTERNAL LINK
Pretty sure Ashley had leading strike rate to winners in 2017 . Certainly be near the lead in 2018 also , congrats Ashlee .

Congratulations Ashlee and Andrew on a tremendous performance ...the first for any trainer in 20 years - the Oaks and Derby!
As we know in the world of greyhounds, one day you are up and one day you are down. After Thursday nights "high", Friday was a bit of a downer with "EYE GOT IT" (another member of the incredible Barcia Bale x Father Of Mine litter), falling, and according to the stewards report, fracturing his scapula at Geelong.

Thanks for your comments guys - both Ash and I greatly appreciate it. It's an amazing thrill to see everything come together from the breeding, rearing, breaking-in and to racing.
David - he's battered and bruised but our vet has had a look at him over the weekend with x-rays ruling out any significant bone damage. He has however suffered severe muscle damage and will spend some time on the sidelines but we are hopeful of a full recovery.

Andrew,
Thanks for the update.
Glad it isn't a fracture/break, I feared the worst when he fell, it was a terrible fall!
Although it does sound as if he will be off the scene for a while, hopefully he comes back stronger, and as fast!
Once again congratulations to both you and Ashlee, not only for the Derby and Oaks success but the success of the entire litter.
