I am standing for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFFP) in the Upper House in the Western Victorian Region at the State election in 12 days time on November 24th.

I will be representing the SFFP in supporting rural communities and the country way of life against agenda driven, urban based city-centric lawmakers that have no understanding of country living.

In Victoria, the SFFP primarily focus on fielding candidates in the Upper House and currently there are two elected SFFP members while unfortunately there are five Greens.

There are 8 regions in the state and each region will have 5 members elected to the upper house.

The Western Victoria Region goes from Geelong, Lara and Melton through to Ballarat, Maryborough up to Warracknabeal, through to the SA border including Horsham as well as Warrnambool and Portland in the south.

The Victorian branch of the SFFP was only formed 6 weeks prior to the last state election and still managed to get two members elected state wide. This election they will be standing candidates in all eight regions and are obviously looking to increase that number.

They are currently polling at approximately 3.8% across the state, which is more than double the support they had at the last election, so the party is obviously growing in strength.

If you want any more information or want to get on my email list, PM me here on Data. I will only be sending info to Greyhound racing supporters so make sure you let me know who you are

Yes Kev ... I think they will ... the more the merrier ... we have to make this election count for us ... Labour will get in but what we don't want is them forming government with the Greens etc

The early booths have opened already and i drove by one this morning and the Animal Justice Party were set up and handing out pamphlets ... so it's game on

Kev .. it's all about votes ... and we should all be voting SFFP in every seat especially in the upper house

From my perspective it's important to get a high primary number which will then get me far enough up the list to survive the preference deals ... last election the SFFP got 10,028 votes in my region and they had only formed 5 weeks beforehand .. that placed them 7th and they only just missed when preferences were allocated

They had polled 1.6% statewide before the last election but this time they are polling at 3.8% ... so hopefully that will reflect in votes

The SFFP came down to the GOTBA meeting last night and met with the committee ... meeting went really well as both groups have similar interests .. i guess you'll be hearing more about that

Mate ... put it out there

TO bad you ain't running for a federal seat you would have had greyhound people from all over Australia voting for you, anyway all the best in your State election, if they want a good man than your their man.

Well done, Geoff.
Great to see!
Please post here any details of media releases, promotions, speeches, your f/b blog, or anything else relevent so the masses can share far and wide.
You need exposure and hopefully all of us can help.
All the very best...this is EXACTLY what's needed!

For anyone who is helping at the polling booths, can you please take a billboard with you reading..."JUST A MORSEL OF HYPOCRISY" and stand behind the Animal Justice Party's stand.

I had a Private Message question ... so I thought I would post the answer here as well ...

If you jump on the ABC site ... EXTERNAL LINK .. you can see how preferences are distributed ... remembering they are different for every seat .. that link is to my region so you'll have to search the other regions to see what is happening there

The Shooters have put the Greens and the AJP last in every seat

Also thanks for all the well wishes ... it's unknown territory for me but thought I'd have a shot

I do recall a comment (perhaps by Jeff Bourman - upper house Vic) that SFFP is really a human rights party that champions people doing legal things responsibly.

Was made in the context of a question about over-represented vocal minorities that seek to undermine others through self-proclaimed moral superiority.

Good luck, Geoff.

It appears the ABC are going to try and help AJP at the elections. A questionable story on the horse industry in Victoria on 730 last night.

We need people willing to put themselves out there and speak for us, so thanks.
