I must admit, I was a bit sceptical about this, but I think it was very well thought out and it will become a much anticipated event in the future.

Good luck to all shareholders.

I wonder how many 5 % shares were sold .

I wonder if the Sandown CEO will now tell us how many 5% shares are left for sale .

This DRAFT has destroyed the the way Syndicates now run .

$2500 FOR A 5% SHARE in 3 dogs will never give you a return ..

I wonder if Greg Miller from Sandown will tell us how many shares are purchased by Sandown Race Club
How many Shares did the Sandown Club and the GRV buy ..

All small syndicates now have huge fees to find in fact this SPOLLYS RORT has made costs blow right out ..

I here Greg Miller explain this was organised two years ago and the pups were purchased long ago also so the Sandown Club and the GRV are guilty of FRAUD because let's face it they spent OUR MONEY developing this concept .

I also hear Greg Miller tell the listeners that SANDOWN FACEBOOK PAGE WAS GOING OFF ..

20 likes and 5 Shares is not getting the message out there Greg Miller in fact you have now developed even further the GREAT DIVIDE ...Them and us attitude ..Well done GRV well done Sandown Club ....You have now made it almost impossible to create any further syndicates you have BLOWN out all costs for the smaller Members once again ..

IF YOU WANT BREEDERS TO BREED you must give GAP spots to Breeders and this will then encourage many more people to breed ....

GIVE guaranteed GAP spots to its Members ....

Everyone of these Spolly Sandown GRV dogs have a place after racing and this is something NO ONE ELSE HAS . WHY IS IT SO ...

Greg Miller why does all of SPOLLYS dogs go to GAP ....Why is Spollys not capable of training City Winners...but creates wastage ..for GAP

PS
I know the GRV internet spies read all of the diatribe on this forum in fact i hear and see many things the members here have talked about implemented the the clubs and the GRV...

At present the GRV employ at least 10 staff as Internet spies ....50 Staff Plus for Social Media Press releases .and now well over 300 people employed...The GRV are growing at such a fast rate that this is the real concern we need addressing in fact the GRV have continued to SPEND OUR MONEY ON employing more and more people ..

WHY IS THIS SO ..This has to STOP

I think it's a great new initiative to bringing participants in to the sport. To my best knowledge they went very close to selling out, and I don't believe it was heavily advertised, so that suggests the idea has potential.

I take my hat off to the people who are making an effort to improve the industry as opposed to sitting on G-Data waiting for their minute in the limelight of shooting these people down.

I think the drafts live broadcast was also very well presented and informative. Good work Sandown and all involved.

The payment of prizemoney annually put me off being involved. Doesnt seem a hard task to calculate 2.5% & transfer money so why not at least quarterly?

So Adam are we all to remain silent because you and others think its a good idea ..
my comments and other people's comments are very important and have you heard about the old saying of
KEEPING THE BASTARDS HONEST ...

This forum along with other forums are here because we need to create debate and solid criticism ...FACT nothing more nothing less

Maybe you Adam should go around the tracks and talk to the Owners Trainers and Breeders and there you will find the answer you are looking for and this concept was formed not by the Members but the Club and the GRV and why should i or anyone else remain silent if we see a wrong we should have the right to reply or are you one of those far left soft C@cks who you believe everyone else is wrong and only your leftest views count
DEBATE CREATES EDUCATION .....

Constructive criticism is a valuable tool in the workplace that allows individuals to learn and grow. But quite often people don't realize what a great resource it can be. The truth is, feedback and criticism can really help all of us succeed in the workplace and in life.

Here are just a few benefits that can be found when you make the most of constructive criticism:

Increases insight and perspective:
First of all, criticism helps to give us a new perspective and opens our eyes to things we may have overlooked or never considered. Whether it's a peer review of your work or a performance review, constructive criticism and feedback can help you grow by shedding light and giving you the opportunity for improvement. ,
Creates bonds:
Criticism is especially beneficial at work because it shows that your managers and peers care about you and want to see you succeed. Receiving feedback, whether it's positive or negative, is a good thing because it just goes to show that your peers are invested in your future and they want to help you learn. Rather than letting you fail and replacing you, these people feel that you're the right person for the job and they want you on their team. With a little bit of guidance, you will be an even better fit for your position and learn a thing or two along the way.

Cultivates a trustworthy workplace:
In an environment where people are able to share feedback and constructive criticism, everyone is a winner. Creating a transparent, collaborative atmosphere at work gives us all the opportunities to become better workers and people. With feedback and input from our peers and managers we are able to learn and expand our horizons while creating trusting relationships with others. Most importantly, an open environment like this allows us to be proactive and share our input without putting people's personal feelings in jeopardy.

I have been posting for years the same way i will never change and after 4852 Posts i believe in is far different to your views but does that make me right or wrong ...Let the Members decide .

You either agree or disagree and there is no need to get your panties in a knot because we differ in opinion Adam .... Everyone is entitled to their opinions ...Right or Wrong i will continue to ensure we have a level playing field for all big and small ..
Tell us Adam how much money has the GRV waisted over the past 3 years ...OUR MONEY

PS
My minute of fame passed long ago ...Adam ....

so how does this syndicate, bring more people to the sport ?

than any other syndicate that we have had in the past ?

i didnt think there was any shortage of syndicates or people willing to join them , and cost seemed to be gauged on the breeding of the pups , or if it was racedogs then it was based on the dogs ability

sure there have been crap ones,, but there has been lots running successfully for years

Everything new starts off small but you watch, next year there will be 15 teams with 4 pups each. This will get bigger and bigger.
Mind you, I think $51k for 3 pups is a massive rip off but I'm not buying so my opinion means Jack.

The major difference would be the draft concept, although theyre planning on using this as a major advertisement tool for the industry. I also believe a lot of the pups that are on offer are highly sought after and generally wouldnt be available to the average Syndicate. It has also included some of the highest profile names in the sport to be involved, which is great for buyer confidence.

I think it will be only a matter of time before the Gallops or Trots are introducing a similar concept, so its great to be involved in the proactive industry for once

There are plenty of people out there that would love to own a 5% share of a Fernando bale pup trained by Rob Britton ect. This gives them the opportunity to do so. .

so whats the breakup of the $17.000 per pup ? and what % of prizemoney is returned to the syndicate owners, or do they just go into it for fun , and hope to get a photo to put in the man cave ?

$2550 gets you 5% share in three pups, with no more to pay. This cost includes purchase, rearing, break in, pre training and any vet bills. Prize money split is 50/50.

Theres a PDS mate.
Lot of admin costs and a $660 per pup payment for 'possible vet bills'
I read that the Spolly people, who I dont know, have syndicated over 100 dogs. So the first question I would ask is 'how did they go and where are they now?'

Yes, I can't imagine the trainers training the dogs for free so they would have to earn $102,000 between them to break even.
What happens if one of the bitches is successful?? Who breeds with her??

thanks Adam, so one syndicate is three pups at 5% so 20 members to make it 100% ownership to that syndicate,, $51.000

prizemoney 50/50 these 3 pups need to earn $102.000 for the syndicate to break even or about 20 city wins ,

and the syndicate members dont have to worry about the dogs life after racing ? so on face value its probably not a bad way for someone to get involved who isnt in a position to be hands on , or who dont know anyone in the industry

i dont know anything about them jamie, but i guess they would need to supply some sort of CV to these investors in the syndicates,

it would be quite a job to find out how 100 syndicated dogs fared during their racing career

Who pays the Vet fee's .
Out of 30 dogs Half will not make the track and many of them will need thousands spent on Vet fee's so who covers that cost .

Why should these dogs get a get out of jail card when they finish racing and who continues with all associated costs and why should they get into GAP before other people's dogs or other syndicate dogs .

Why didnt the GRV help bolster already up and running Syndicates the same as they have done SPOLLYS
Why dont the GRV give it's current breeders GAP positions above any new BREEDERS ..

The GRV and Sandown have helped Spollys get all of their dogs into GAP .

When was the last time any Spollys Dogs won in town

You are throwing away your money and there is no way anyone will make a cent back and you are better off going to the Casino and betting on the black ...The Vet costs will blow out all profits .

Look at the costs and returns ...A fool and his money are soon parted

Ive said this a few times on other threads but I got involved in the dogs through a syndication. It was never about the money, though that was a bonus. It was only ever about the experience and the thrill.
And I told everyone I met about my dogs. I was so proud of them. The bonus about having 3 dogs is that usually one will be running within a few days. It looks expensive and the syndicate have talked themselves up by saying they are the best bred pups, reared by the best, trained by the best etc, so there will be no excuses.
They also bang on about welfare a lot so keep an eye out for Britton, Dailly and co, at the nearest tier3 meetings, if things dont quite stay top level.
I don't think I'd be happy if I was paying for a dog to be trained by the group 1 winners, only to see it in the kennels of Centrelink Charlie

I would love to see the costs associated with this concept ...

Who's Money has been used so far and from what i heard Greg Miller and co had this planned years ago so why didn't they plan to help the breeders in Victoria with incentives years ago ..

Why did the GRV cut the balls off every breeder in Victoria and then go behind our backs to create a Syndicate culture backed by Sandown racing Club that we all own ..

Why don't the GRV give us back our GOBIS it was our MONEY and why dont the GRV give GAP places for breeders in Victoria as incentives to breed ..

Why dont the GRV offer all SYNDICATES the same things it gives away to SPOLLYS ..FREE ADVERTISEMENT and FREE Gap placements .

As someone who has been in the greyhound industry for 3 years. I decided to put my hand up as a Team leader in the draft.

Unfortunately I didn't make the cut. The 2 they chose are definitely better leaders than I.

The Draft is a great idea to get involved, as I have been in this game for 3 years.
When we first started, we almost brought 15% of a greyhound that ' royally bred, trialling beautifully, city class ' all the lies and crap.
We didn't buy in, that 15% was going to cost us $2500.
We did our own research to find the break in times were about 1 second slower than what would make the track despite the ads telling us it would be a gun

The greyhound 12 months later, never had a start, 6 months later. It finally said retired.. At the time we wanted to buy more cause it seemed cheap.
That was the last 15%... so this syndicate pretty much sold 85% of the dog that never made the track, after break in never would make the track.
That is 85% if they were FIRST TIMERS, that I can bet my left nut will never buy another greyhound. As they had been burnt

Since then I am much more educated and buy dogs wthout the help of syndicators.

The third dog we brought was a syndicated dog, they took out money. Gave us an update every few months in the way of a vet bill nothing else. Once again, many were first time owners. Felt in the dark, im really surprised I didn't walk away than

We have brought broken dogs from here for $4000, $1500, $10000 (not going to name but not cool, always get vet checks pre purchase).

So if the DRAFT brings in 100 new owners, that is great.
That is a lot more than a lot of others are doing

I see people say this will kill small syndicators, as part of a tipping service I provide. I have syndicated dogs out, the last few dogs have sold out in under 15-20 minutes.

That's cause they are reasonable, I am honest and tell people it may never win a race, It might win 10 races.

I take my hat off to the syndicators like PuntersHQ who are killing it at the moment, over 150 winners this year in different states.

This won't kill syndicates, it will promote the sport, it will get others keen.

That is 100 more people going to the track, maybe 300-400 when family and friends gather.
Last few times I have been to the track, crowd numbers are quite low.

I think the draft is one of the best ideas in years, it is supported by the industry.
Not some con man selling terrible pups, pimping them up as champions and delivering bugger all.

I am sure some are pissed off they didn't get involve in the draft or put there hand forward. After all only 18 trainers put in to be involved in training the draft dogs

Only 4 non trainers put the hands up to lead a team

We tried to buy a dog from the Bendigo ready 2 run auctions. Dogs went for crazy dollars, dogs running 24.50 going for 5k.

You don't win many races running 24.50

Anyway, you can accept change is here. You can accept the revolution of greyhound syndication or you can just stick your in the sand.

ENCOURAGE OWNERSHIP
ENCOURAGE THE OWNERS TO GET TO THE TRACK.

This is a great sport, We have spent tens of thousands of dollars buying dogs for very little return BUT we will keep spending cause we love to waste money on 30 seconds of enjoyment.
